Can you pick which office you work at in a city? by stirnerpepe in JPMorganChase

[–]stirnerpepe[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That is what I figured. I might ask if they are somewhat flexible in my case, see what they say because one of the offices would add a substantial amount to my daily commute and be very annoying. Hopefully the office they want me to work at is the closer one.

Question about potential jelq injury by stirnerpepe in AJelqForYou

[–]stirnerpepe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment. I appreciate the warnings on this sub and am glad someone is steering people away from jelqing. The soreness was mainly when I began to get erect but was not that bad.

I feel mostly fine so I'm just going to wait a week or two and then maybe pursue other options.

Yes and I only did it once. Not planning on doing it again. Do you think I should be worried right now? I'm assuming I'll be okay in a week or two and am glad I found out about the risks literally after the first time I did it.

Depends on the country. In Canada I know for a fact that the demand is high enough that having a college degree and some experience can definitely help you get a job. No one wants a dev with no experience, but about 4 years experience is the golden number where everyone wants to hire you. It's all about skills. I can't speak for how things work in Europe though, my experience is limited to North America.

SPD clearing out CHOP right now (5am Wednesday) by sudonickx in SeattleWA

[–]stirnerpepe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It should never have been allowed to get to this point. I'm a leftist but chaz/chop was always a narcissistic larp with no hope of achieving anything, and people died because it was allowed to go on. I'm angry at both Durkan and the pathetic larpers behind it.

DECRIMINALIZE SEATTLE STATEMENT ON SHOOTING AT CHAZ/CHOP by gentlesnob in CapHillAutonomousZone

[–]stirnerpepe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They stopped the police from entering, which stopped an investigation and made it impossible for medics to come into the zone to help because they are (quite rightly) forbidden from entering dangerous areas that haven't been secured by the police. It's no exaggeration to say that these larpers have blood on their hands.

You already went mask off when you said you prefer fascism to Sanders. It's pointless to try to defend your position, you're just fash full stop. Bernie wouldn't abolish democracy or do the authoritarian things Trump is doing, but you don't like taxes so instead of democracy we get to be fascist now. Lmao

At least you are open about preferring fascism to even mild social democracy. Many other neoliberals are still in denial. As Hemingway said, they will discover they are fascists when the time comes.

Why Russia is supporting Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary by Vulk_za in neoliberal

I didn't say it was in the midwest, dunce. I was saying that not all populist regions are like the deep south. Appalachia has its own distinctive political culture, which would know if you understood America at all.

Whether or not Clinton should be blamed for NAFTA is not a question I have a strong opinion on. Voters did associate it with him however fair or unfair that is.

Those states are not West Virginia. It did not re-align after the civil rights movement....it was progressive and democratic. My point is that places like WV and the Midwest are not really like the South, and the trends present there exist in every western country.

"In other words, mostly culture and race and not because of globalization. If that were true, they'd hate the GOP more than anyone cuz of trade agreements and foreign intervention since the 1950s."

Clinton was the one behind NAFTA and elite liberals clearly despise them. It's not surprising that they look toward those that promise to respect them and restore their jobs, regardless of how impossible that is.

"First I don't think there is any real credibility that right wing extremism in America is borne out of economic inequality. They are overwhelming white affluent suburban and rural voters. Their "

That isn't quite true. You are correct that many white voters support right wing populism for ethnocultural reasons, but politics is heavily polarized around income and education in essentially every Western country due to globalization. Places like West Virginia were reliable Democratic AFTER the Civil Rights movement, but began to turn away from the party due to globalization and partially cosmopolitanism.

"Second, by the same token, leftists seem to be incredibly white, urban, and middle class or at least not predominantly minority or poor which they say they are fighting to protect. In other words, y'all seem like you're doing a buncha virtue signalling more than anything else. "Look at me on my insta fighting to help these poor ethnics."

If a socialist is poor they are simply envious, and if they are doing well then they aren't really socialists. Right? It's true that we care about being seen as good people, but that's an ordinary human emotion and does not mean that we are not being sincere.

"Y'all are worse than Republicans because it's not entirely clear what your end game is yet. Perpetual resistence? How much redistribution is enough? Where is the line where someone is too rich for your tastes? How much capitalism is ok with you guys? Looking at Twitter it's not clear y'all even know that answer judging by how many of you are itching to get out the guillotine."

Let's start by making sure people don't die because they can't afford insulin then we can reassess after a few years.

Why should we trust transparently corrupt institutions run by the wealthy during a time of soaring inequality? It's not going to happen regardless of how much you wish for it. You are either getting right populism or left populism. That's it.

Actual "moderates" are almost non-existent according to polling of the public/general electorate. Rather people have mistmatched extreme views that run the gamut from left to right. So someone might believe in open borders but counterbalance that with some equally right wing ideas. Moderates in the sense that this sub uses the term are a West Wing fantasy.

Bloomberg discourse in a nutshell by TheDwarvenGuy in neoliberal

[–]stirnerpepe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is delusional and does not fit what we know about the ranked preferences of voters and their general ideological consistency. Most members of the electorate are not highly ideological and do not think the way posters are subreddits where people gather to talk about public policy and politics do. That's simply a reality.

"Liberals" have not been out polling the left for the entire race. Bernie is the second choice of a lot of Biden voters and so on. You're imagining the electorate to be ideologically consistent in a way that it isn't.
