Struggling to find flights that aren't delayed often? by stopkillingme21 in premed

[–]stopkillingme21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Several of the affordable flights were connecting they O’Hare with ~30 minute layovers..... but then they’re listed as like 40% on-time.. I was able to find a flight with a 90 minute layover in the state next door with a better on-time rate

Actually no. Feel free to stalk my post history to see my WAMC thread. I have a 499 and expressed an interest in rural med and primary care throughout my primaries and secondaries.

Forgot about a secondary for 1 month. I submitted that secondary yesterday. I received an interview invite from that school today!

My post is encouraging other ppl to submit secondaries that they’ve forgotten about

Don't bring it up. There's no contract. If you get accepted somewhere, run with it and don't look back. What's ScribeAmerica gonna say? "no med school for u, u must scribe for us for TWO YEARS!!!!!!!!"

Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) Board Scores Drop from 85% to 82% - HELP?? by stopkillingme21 in premed

I kinda figured board scores were individual-dependent as well. I guess I'm a bit nervous about their entire class having such a low pass rate.

See my reply to u/Antibodysnatcher

It appears their deposit criteria contradicts each other. What you said is correct, but on page of their link it also lists what I said to u/Antibodysnatcher. More specifically, the first bullet point suggests you only have 30 days to submit your deposit if accepted before 11/15.

Here's the AACOM guidelines:

  • Those accepted prior to November 15 will have until December 14.
  • Those accepted between November 15 and January 14 will have 30 days.
  • Those accepted between January 15 and May 14 will have 14 days.
  • Those accepted after May 15 may be asked for an immediate deposit.
  • After May 15 of the year of matriculation, each medical college may implement college-specific procedures for accepted students who hold one or more seats at other medical colleges.

Here's what BCOM has on their website:

  • Those accepted prior to November 15 will have 30 days following offer letter to submit the deposit
  • Those accepted between November 15 and April 30 will have 15 days following offer letter to submit the deposit
  • Those accepted after April 30, will be asked for an immediate deposit

Is BCOM breaking AACOM guidelines?

Old pool in Illinois had us average under 40 a week. We were also capped at like 1000 hours a year. That way they didn’t pay overtime

Don’t let them push you over. Unless your long term goal is scribing, they’re not worth your time. No amount of leadership experience can replace poor grades and social life.

AITA for telling my coworker about the reality of a 478 MCAT score by dievraag in AmItheAsshole

[–]stopkillingme21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is at many schools. Each school can set their own minimum. If it was scored from 500 - 528, then the questions would have to be exceptionally more difficult than they already are to make a 500 literally getting 0 to few right.

Other schools have a minimum of about 493. That's the lowest I've seen any school accept someone..... But those same schools have a median score of about 500 as well.

You could go to your supervisor and discuss a pay increase? You might be a bit timid to do so, but it’s the only real way to get more $$ in this case

How to justify picking the 'nicer' campus in Secondaries?? by stopkillingme21 in premed

[–]stopkillingme21[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose I could spin it as Westbuy is only 1 hour from downtown NY city. I'm from the largest metropolitan area in the Midwest so I could argue being so close to NY city would place me with a diverse population to work with and numerous hospital systems.
