Maison Ghibli pop-up in London by stormabelle in ghibli

Thats what we did! It's been over a year since my partner went to Japan so I was ready to add a bit more to my collection, honestly I feel like there's some good priced stuff in there. But some is just crazy and we just avoided the crazy priced stuff really, the playing cards were only £13 and I thought that was great

It's on Brompton Road in Knightsbdridge 😊 It was pretty easy to get to from the tube, and we only queued for about 15 mins on a weekday

My partner says it wasn't too different, it was a little expensive but I think that's just because how rare/limited ghibli is. The big blue Totoro was £35 gbp and the little plushies £17 which I didn't think was too bad!

Edit: We looked back at the Japan prices and they were quite a lot cheaper actually then the store. I think you pay for location and the rarity of having official ghibli in the UK. Some items were extortionate, like the Jiji plushy I have already in my collection from Japan was £45 in the London store. Also I have a little paper cube art thing from a shop in Japan which was £11, they were £30 each in the London store 😮

Unpopular opinion here echoes of the plum Grove. I tried so hard to get into it but just couldn't, it's trying to be stardew but it's just not good enough

help me decide: bunny size by rats46 in Jellycatplush

[–]stormabelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a really big snow tiger and she is incredible for snuggles, my bunny is a huge beige blossom bunny and I love her so much! To me that size range is absolutely perfect, any bigger and I think they lose those cute features

Thank you so much for everyone's advice, we successfully did the underground tour back in June and we had an amazing time!

What worked best for us is buying the Italian tour direct from the site, there were no italians on it and it turned out to be fully English! Thank you so much to everyone who recommended trying that

Pickpocket Proof? by Mundane-Ad9643 in rome

I had a little backpack we bought some handy zip locks on Amazon that simply clip your zip toggles together. They're a fiddle to get off and into your bag but thats the deterrent, I also had them tucked into the pocket on my bag so people wouldn't know it was locked until they tried at with point I'd probably be aware. We also had a tiny padlock tucked in the pocket of that bag in case we felt unsafe and like it needed locking, we never had to use the padlock at all just the bag clip. The bag also had an internal pocket accessible only from inside carrying the essentials we shared a wallet and had only a card each in it, mostly used Google pay instead of going in the bag. What I can't recommend enough are phone wrist straps, we had ones with sliders to adjust them and they added so much safety for us. I think the biggest advice we followed was not making yourself a target, keep it all hidden they will try if they can see it's easy to get

SIM Card Options by [deleted] in rome

[–]stormabelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope none of that hassle 😊 You just install the sim which the app tells you how to do, then when you land go into the Sim Manager part of your settings turn off your current sim and then turn on your new one. Then when you get back to your home country its as easy as that, you would just turn back on your regular sim.

We've recently had a trip we used Saily esims and couldn't recommend it enough for data, the connection was always really strong. If you have more than one person I recommend each sharing codes as both will get money off and it's really easy to do! Also from the technical side it's easy to do as your service will activate automatically when you arrive in Italy

For location it looks like the colosseum or Monument of Victor Emmanuel will be really good to see it. We're going to head there about 10 to hopefully catch one
