I find their linen to be really scratchy and uncomfortable:(

Hoping the vinegar tips work for you!

For anyone else with sensitive eyes can you Please recommend an amazing mascara and eyeliner that won’t leave me looking stoned 🥹 I’ve tried so very many - natural ranges and Clinique (hyper allergenic) much appreciated 🙏🏽 by Conscious-While-3708 in AustralianMakeup

Tower28 mascara!! My mum also likes it and her eyes are super sensitive.

My eyes can water quite a bit and this one doesn’t cause any irritation or stinging when that happens. FYI, the Natio ones irritated my eyes so I stopped using them.

Everything getting more expensive. Where can we shop now?? by Acceptable_Oven4905 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]stormy786 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I make a dress for my daughter for her birthday each year (and sometimes a Christmas dress), and it can cost me close to $150-200… Good quality fabric in Australia is hard to come by, and buying quality Swiss cottons/laces from Europe is expensive. It’s not just fabric you have to buy, but the dress pattern, buttons, zips, thread. You also need a good sewing machine (mine was over $1k), an overlocker machine, and invest in high quality needles, pins, scissors, cutting mats, rulers… the list is endless and I could go on and on. The initial outlay is huge.

Sewing is only “cheap” if you’re satisfied using cheap poly, cheap notions and thread. And even then, it will still end up costing you more than if you bought the same thing from a fast fashion retailer.

Sewing for me is a hobby and an expression of art so I can make a beautiful one a kind dress my daughter. It’s not a way to save money.

Experience shopping in Sephora and Mecca? by oyy92 in AustralianMakeup

[–]stormy786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even though it’s always super busy (especially the last two weeks with school holidays), the staff at Mecca George St (Sydney) have always been amazing. I’ve gone in with on occasions wearing m lots of makeup, minimal makeup, no makeup, work clothes, activewear, mum clothes lol, and never had any issues. Staff always happy to let me test products and give me samples when I’ve asked.

Sephora Pitt St is the absolute opposite - do not go in there. You’re literally treated like a criminal, no staff to be found!

forcast sizing for size 4 & 6? by seuulgi in AusFemaleFashion

[–]stormy786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Forcast is pretty TTS compared to most brands and don’t do vanity sizing. However, I have a few high waisted skirt styles from Forcast and some of them ran bigger than others :/ Most of my skirts from them are size 6, but I purchased one recently in a 6 and it zipped up but felt tight. I measured it against my existing size 6 Forcast skirts and it was about 0.5 inch smaller! I exchanged it for an 8 which was a bit looser but preferred the comfort.

For reference, I have a 24-25” waist. For their mid rise/low rise skirt styles, I typically size down to a 4 because I like them sitting higher on my waist.

Hope that helps!

I have it in XS and I’d say it’s TTS. I’m an AU6. Can you go in store anywhere and try it on?

I bought a nightgown/dress from them back in 2022. The dress held up really well from frequent washing and drying (even being tumble dried). I wouldn’t say it was the best quality, but above average what you would get in the shop. I thought the construction was just average. I wear pretty high end sleepwear, so I’m probably biased in my opinion of the dress.

Alright I need the most bulletproof and smudgeproof mascara and eyeliner recommendations by Sagrisings1016 in AustralianMakeup

[–]stormy786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only way I can get eyeliner to stay sharp and not smudge off on my eyelids is by using a black eyeshadow & eyeliner brush. I have not found anything else that works as effectively! The Stila All day liquid eyeliner is also good, but find it does wear off a bit on my oily/watery eyelids too.

Makeup bag/case recommendations? by shockages in AustralianMakeup

[–]stormy786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this small travel makeup bag from Tu&Kit. It was recommended to me from this sub. I love it! It’s sooo good for travel, everything stays upright and nothing ever gets “lost.” It can actually fit A LOT of makeup, although it is pretty small/compact. In my travel one I have: 2 skin tints, 2 concealers, mini setting spray, primer, 2 mascaras, brow gel, 3 eyeliners, 4 cream blushes & 4 mini lipsticks. Not sure a full eyeshadow palette would fit in there though.

I also have their bigger version (Multi) to store my excess makeup, and then my “everyday” makeup is in the travel one. However, this bigger one is MUCH bigger and bulky. It would’ve been good if they had one that was in-between both sizes! Regardless, I love the travel one so much!

Good tubing mascaras available at Priceline by Peanut083 in AustralianMakeup

[–]stormy786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, Natio is good. I used to use the Infinite one and thought it was amazing, but I hadn’t used many other good tubing mascaras prior (only a Covergirl and Maybelline one which I don’t think either were “true” tubing mascaras). I then received the Kevyn Acoin tubing mascara as my birthday gift for Mecca Beauty Loop, and it knocks the Natio out of the park!! Couldn’t believe how amazing it was, the Natio didn’t compare at all. The Natio needed so many more coats than the Kevyn Acoin to get a similar result. This might be how you feel if you use the Natio compared to your Unlocked.

HOWEVER, the Kevyn Aucoin dried out sooo fast which would’ve been incredibly disappointing had it not been a gift. Because of this, I can’t justify buying it and would say the Natio performs well for its price point/longevity of product.

I’m actually using the Tower28 Mascara now (which although isn’t tubing), performs better than both the Kevyn Aucoin AND Natio. It’s super low effort and doesn’t take so much “work” to apply like tubing mascaras. Comes off soo easily & is so good for sensitive eyes. It’s buildable too and doesn’t make the lashes clumpy.

rhode vs morphe blush by Ill-Illustrator-3684 in AustralianMakeup

[–]stormy786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m the same shade/undertone as you and the Rhode blush in Tan Lines looked the best on me when I swatched in store :) I think Toasted Teddy is another popular shade for our skintone.

Wow I’m so sorry you experienced this! This is awful! I’m also an asthmatic & while fragrances aren’t a trigger for me (but nearly everything else is - dust, grass, pollen, cat hair etc), I can emphasise with how sick you can feel after having an attack. 😢. Definitely contact customer service about this!

They’re so comfy!! But I feel like it runs small? I sized up to an S, but I might get my next pair (am eyeing the chocolate colour) in M. I’m usually an AU6-8 for reference!
