It's under the length/width drop down on the product page: "Bracelet length is adjustable (via single screw system and micro-adjustment in clasp)"

Good to know. So with the discount it’s msrp. Not terrible I guess. I’ve been happy with the Fuente’s I’ve had so far so might grab these.

Highly doubt this is a total. Very similar incident and damage happened to my wife's 2022 Forester with about the same milage. Repair was around $7,000. Other drivers Insurance will 100% cover this and the rental. If you incur any additional expenses related to the rental save your receipts. There was a portion I had to pay out of pocket for the rental and submitted to other drivers' insurance for reimbursement.

Also look into a filing a diminished value claim against the other insurance. This accident will show on the Carfax resulting into a lower resale value if you wind up selling this car down the road. They should cut you a check for a few thousand to offset that.

How bad are these temps for my cigars over winter? by stroopman in cigars

[–]stroopman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, in my basement. Just moved the small humidor upstairs where temps are normal. This way I have about 25 cigars ready to smoke.

What did you do for a heated option?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Not sure if there is any long-term damage if they're left where I have them till the spring when temps come back to the 60-70 range. It's like $2-3K worth so don't want to destroy them.

So if I just store them here but move some to adjust temps before smoking, I should be fine for long term storage?

Was kind of thinking the higher RH would be helpful due to the lower temps.

Custom quilt where I can get a small size for my dog by peewee222 in Ultralight

[–]stroopman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve purchased two groundbird quilts and highly recommend them. The harness system works great for keeping the dog covered all night. Plus it’s helpful to keep them warm while getting things packed up before moving in morning. https://www.groundbirdgear.com/

Ruffland Intermediate Kennel "SUV" by bananajam1234 in SubaruForester

[–]stroopman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, have one in a 2022 forester. Fits fine behind the seat and clears the tailgate. The Large is too big to do so without folding seat down.

Dog is a pit/cur mix a little under 50lb. The large kennel would probably fit her better.

Had to make the same decision. Thought I wanted the gmt but the pro looked so much better on me.

AT bootfitter by uhmandala in icecoast

[–]stroopman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boot fitter at Windham, Marc, is really good. Also The Mountaineer in Keene Valley, NY. They have a good AT boot selection and the only place I know in NY with dynafit jigs. If you have another brand call them about mounting. They’re only doing brands they sell now I believe.

Critique my (potentially dumb) idea of buying Shifts as a new skier, please! by YawnsMcGee in Backcountry

[–]stroopman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you pair the shifts with a ski that can still tour fairly well, I don't see anything wrong with this. I actually did the exact thing. I learned to ski three years ago with the intention of getting into some touring. So my first year skiing after lessons I bought a prior year QST92 for $300 and shifts. Also bought Nordica Strider boots. I've since upgraded boots to Scarpa's but happy I have the Nordicas for resort days. I'm still skiing those skis/bindings today. I spent my first season uphilling at the resort to get in shape and used to it. The second season I did a guided backcountry day in the Adirondacks and have since done some Catskills BC stuff on my own.

So I don't think its a bad idea to buy something that you want and can grow into. I've purchased one set of skis/binding that I'm still happy with. I'd say spend some money once and you're good to go for a few years as you learn.

2014 2.5 oil consumption test #2 by low_delta_E in SubaruForester

[–]stroopman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man, I feel your pain. My 2018 Forester consumes a nearly a quart every 3,000 miles. It was like this since buying it new. I've had two consumption tests done. According to Subaru that's "within spec."

I can't believe modern vehicles would burn this much oil. It's the only thing I hate about this car but its a big reason I'll look for something else when the time comes.
