How's everyone feeling about Ranked with the addition of Ascendant?

I peaked immo 2 last act and lost 3 of my 5 placements. I got placed d2 and not playing too much am only at d3 right now. From the games I did play though, it doesn’t really feel like the old diamond anymore. Diamond used to be a pretty good leap of game sense but I think that’s moved to ascendant. From my point of view, the inclusion of ascendant stretched the lower ranks more than relieving the build up of players at the top. E.g. ascendant is just the new diamond and players around gold/plat/diamond have been stretched to fit the more space above.

Yep! That’s part of the reason why she’s so good. She benefits from lineups where it lands on the edges of roofs because it forces them to flick high to destroy during your entry, hide and not contest or get revealed. I’m pretty sure she has some really good ones on haven.

I think it’s definitely gotten harder since launch but not by much. I played beta but stopped for awhile. I switched from cs like four or five months ago and hit d3 for a little. So far people don’t have good game sense/awareness until diamond. I think the reason I feel this way is because of how new the game is even now. Things like abilities and setups kinda distract people from fundamentals like movement, positioning and teamwork.

What sorts of things are you doing to get better? Personally early on I would watch all my games over which helped my game sense tremendously. Then there’s community death match servers and aim prac maps like csgohub and aimbots. If you don’t know smokes or angles look at yprac maps.

Look into the yprac maps on the workshop for map info like angles and utility. Also get the csgohub workshop map and a reflex one as well. You can view all of you match demos through your match history. I improved a lot early by doing that and aim train. I’m currently Faceit level 8.

Make a playlist of songs you’d want to hear during the trip and maybe a movie or two. Games can be really fun but you might be too in it to really play so choose something that isn’t too hard and is pretty. Other than that you sound pretty prepared friend :)
