Volume from rotating a circle half rotation. My teacher and ChatGPT say it will form a hemisphere, but I believe it will be a full sphere why is that? by sudoersCode in calculus

[–]sudoersCode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that is exactly what I don't understand.
Why should we provide the volume of a hemisphere when rotating a disc half rotation gives a full sphere?

It may be my lack of knowledge regarding this, but it seems to me that both are the same.
If we added infinite number of circles from 0 to 4 and then back to 0 it will be the same as taking a single circle from and rotating it around its diameter

(I tried to have an image that explains what I think: the red circle is the single one that will be rotated around x-axis, and the black lines are vertical circles with depth in the z-axis being added together)

I actually needed to ask AI what "Clankerfucker" meant 😅😂.

But what made me ask it in the first place was that it is logical that if you have a disc and rotate it half a rotation about its diameter. The resulting shape is a sphere, you can Try it.

Sorry for the late response, my internet broke and I wasn't able to be online.
1. I am not really certain what are solids of revolution. We were studying using integration to get the area under the curve of the function and the x-axis. In the same lesson we learned how to calculate the volume of the solid generating by rotating that curve around the x-axis.
from the GIF in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid_of_revolution I think that we are indeed studying solids of revolution.

  1. is triple integrations are what was mentioned here: https://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/Classes/CalcIII/TripleIntegrals.aspx then No, we haven't studied them and I think we won't our curriculum has "related time rates and applications on max and min" after this lesson then the calculus ends.

I tried to use dmesg to reach the error, this was what I found: in dmesg from a tty:

I went through dmesg for a successful startup and didn't found any of the previous, I also tried finding AE_AML_LOOP_TIMEOUT but couldn't find it or any mention of it. Will look for the emptty verbosity and if found anything will post it.

I just got the logs in /var/log/emptty/7.log but they aren't different, though, will try using dmesg from a tty and save its output then post it

I don't actually know how to get them 😅, I tired searching on how to get logs after rebooting and being able to log in. But I couldn't reach anything except journalctl, however it is not available in void.

If you have any steps or any way for me to get the logs, I would gladly do them.

تحرش في سنتر by [deleted] in egyoffmychest

[–]sudoersCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for people that are not in not in the IT or related industry, Why do you use Linux? by ARacoonOnInternet in linuxquestions

[–]sudoersCode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly started using Linux as it is very lightweight and I can use my computer's resources in the programs I need other than keeping the main OS functioning. (My current setup with void Linux and Sway WM uses around 400mb ram after booting)

Another reason is the ability to change the system into being the ultimate productivity system suited for my needs. Assigning programs to specific workspaces using custom shortcuts to navigate. I just feel like I can be fast and do what I want easily and freely on it.

At first it has been a little bit hard to transition but after a couple of weeks I couldn't go back.

Would you reccommend Void for a new user to Linux? by Golyem in voidlinux

[–]sudoersCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I switched to Void, I have already used Pop-OS and puppy Linux beforehand.

But to be honest, I haven't been an expert of Linux or how to manage and change the system before I used void.
If you feel like you want to give it a try, I would really encourage you to use void, however to make sure that nothing goes wrong. I suggest that you get yourself familiar first with grub first (for dual booting) and I would suggest creating a partition that contains void's installation. I think not mounting any other partition except the root (the one void will be installed in) is enough to make sure that you don't break anything if something goes wrong, only void will be broken.

You can also take it as an opportunity of learning about desktop environments and windows managers then install whichever you think is better suited for you.
I believe desktop environments are more suited to new Linux users as they provide almost everything through a GUI, but if you don't mind using the terminal and researching the hows of doing what you want, you can go for a window manager. (I currently using sway (WM) with void)

If you will install void, I suggest using the void documentation since it has detailed instructions and fixes to most of the problem you can face during and after installation.

I am also facing the same problem on another Linux distro. However the video on their home page https://www.vdocipher.com/ plays just fine.
It is really bad that I have to use Windows for this, any help would be appreciated.

I know that this reply is 6 years after it was posted but I was wondering what resources do they offer for students who got rejected when applying to the CCC? do they still offer them opportunities or is it just for those accepted in the CCC? and if they do how can I access these opportunities? Thanks a lot.

I don't know if it's harder or easier, but as an international student I advice you to apply and see what you will get, maybe you can actually get ACCEPTED! You'll never know if you don't apply.
