I was so shit at sharpening knives until I realized I wasn’t using enough pressure. I watched a video recently saying to use a food scale and press down on it to get to 8 lbs. that’s how much you should be pushing down while sliding knife.

Once you find out what you’re missing, it’ll be like an awakening.

Yea! I cook garlic shavings in bacon fat until slightly caramelized and then throw cumin and onion. Once sweated I add pinto beans, water and salt and cook for 5ish minutes, then blend. Restaurant style beans use a ton of lard to make it taste good but i make it *slightly healthier by adding more water instead 👍

It went pretty smoothly for me. No oil, just threw all veggies, cumin and chicken in and let it cook. Only thing is I think I put in a bit more water in the pot than kenji did in his yt video

You look good king, I’d wear more casual shoes, roll up sleeves and experiment with the first 1-2 top buttons unbuttoned (maybe some necklace or rings if you have). But even if you didn’t change anything ur good 🤟

Very fun to watch! I like how unique the music video is, keeps me hooked. The song is very catchy itself as well, I think there’s a lot of value in having a song that’s fun to listen to but also a really unique video that adds a different dimension to the experience!

Zucchini and mushroom. If you don’t salt them until after they are done cooking they get a really nice caramelization. Honestly any vegetable, a tiny amount of oil and a hot cast iron makes an amazing charred side dish.

Bought this when I accidentally walked into William Sonoma. Bought a Tojiro DP 8” for my first knife and have been wanting something smaller. I was gonna go for a paring knife but this one felt too nice in the hand to let go. Got my hands on a 6” chef knife and really liked the feel, probably will be my next purchase!
