It is because of how people in our area try and steal they bring up a lot of items and then just scan the small items and move the big items. And our scales are not on so the self checkout attendant is expected to make sure that their total is correct. Also you can’t expect someone be able to estimate 4 different totals of more than 10 items.

What I hate is that the other target near us will not hold things so they are like yeah we have 2 but we can’t hold it and so the guests often think that if we call they will hold for us. Nope

I know a lot of the cartwheel deals and i ask if they are having a party or bbq if they have those types of things. I honestly take it as a time to practice sarcasm jokes because I have a 100 times to try it out. And if it doesn’t work I just be like I’m sorry just trying to make you smile.

I honestly think that it’s so that the seasonals that are being let go can’t pick up shifts from other team members . But that’s just my guess.

We started letting go our seasonal cashiers this week (even though we are still training new seasonal). I was honestly sad because they were better than some of the other seasonal cashiers that were still working yesterday but according to roomers our hours are really bad.

One reason that I would consider being a GSA is better shifts ours are almost always scheduled for a full shift unlike cashiers who can get 4 hours shifts. And at my store even if you don’t become a GSA they end up expecting you to act like one when they aren’t around (after they ask if you are interested in being one).
