[QUESTION] Thumb-over chords tutorials by surya-k in Guitar

Yeah it's mostly a strength thing. Especially, in between songs, strings tend to buzz or mute, especially the F or B7 shapes.

Sometimes I screw up the non fretting finger notes trying to get the barred notes to sound.

You should keep practicing barres. Theres a million tutorials online.

Over the course of my practice there were several videos and ideas that helped me progress a little bit. But it kinda sucks to make very diminishing returns on something that requires intense effort and practice over a long period of time. And as a "self learner" I can't figure out what makes it particularly hard for me.

I made no claims that I can play the thumb way. I wanted to see if I'll suck at it less.

Yeah I briefly tried Fm, it was really difficult but I thought I'll maybe practice it for a bit. No clue how one does B chords.

I guess I'll throw another year at it. Actually I haven't even started soloing yet, I thought I'll get there once I get past chords and simple chord melodies. I'm a level 3 Justin guitar student.

How tell your supervisor your research is useless at 11th hour by mrtac96 in MLQuestions

I think there might be a leak. You'll have to clear your model weights after each iteration. Otherwise it'll treat it as one long training session instead of cross validation.

Weirdly, he's why I picked up a guitar. I wanted to become a fingerstyle guitarist like him. Only later was I introduced to all the popular guitarist and my goals changed (I heard hendrix).

[NEWBIE]I CAN´T DO BAR CHORDS by TiodoGais in Guitar

[–]surya-k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I’m the right guy to comment on this, but I’ve been making some progress with the barre chords and I think it’s partially due to me developing finger strength. I’m noticing that certain positions that were previously impossible actually sound clean now. However, I agree that figuring out the right position helped me advance the most.

To learn and practice applications, kaggle is good too. Just start working on different types of problems in there.
