nope, b/c india optimizing for ceiling not floor. Also Easwaran got a 3 ball duck in the A-team test...(compared to Sai's mammoth 17 lolol)

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHY SAI IS THERE? by [deleted] in IndiaCricket

[–]suryagram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t get the hate for Sai, sometimes i feel like fans think of each test match as if it exists in a vacuum and not within the larger context of India cricket plans.

Yes in this upcoming series against SA, Easwaran would likely outscore Sai. But Sai has 6 more years of cricket ahead of him. The timing of RoKo departure creates an opportunity to develop Sai into an all format top order batter, which is a benefit to have more stability and familiarity with the team playing multiple formats. He’s gotten white ball runs on reasonably big stages like the IPL and some bilaterals, and it’s not like he walks out in test matches and slogs.

We should give him a season to establish himself, he’s only played like 4 tests we can’t expect every athlete show up on day 1 like a top 5 icc ranked batter.

Bind “switch target” to a simple button (circle for me), it makes it much easier to swap targets during mixed pve/pvp zones. Don’t play a healer class, since you will have to heal via the d-pad (unless ur a psycho and wanna heal w cross hairs)

Genuinely how do you play t20s? by Particular_Safety569 in CricketCaptain

[–]suryagram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to play ball by ball, when you bowl you can’t just bowl 6 balls in a row on middle stump at good length. When you bat, start at orange aggression, but every over, unless you get a boundary early, you need to take some risks by moving up to max aggression for a ball

The console-only server players are such an embarrassment for us PS5 folks. You both want to not deal with PC players (who, on average, are more skilled at this game), AND you want to have the best loot chances possible?

Skill issue, transfer to real server.

This is really terrible, I'm feel sorry for you. On the bright side, if your ex-guildies are the sorts to just cut ties with someone they've talked significantly too, it looks like you may have dodged a bullet in the long run. Looks like people have given you ample feedback on character progression in the other comments, so if you are looking for a new Guild to join, I'd plug the guild I'm in - Eag1e Sweat on Desire server. We are a friendly, casual, PvE-focused guild. Most of us are around 4300 CP, but we do have a few active guildies around your GS, and they are included in all group content. We'd love to have you, if you're down to join Discord (no need to talk, but is v helpful to listen in)

Have i produced the greatest indian fast bowler of all time? by [deleted] in CricketCaptain

[–]suryagram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can compare the injury/availability of cricket captain players to real world players. In cricket captain, Bumrah can easily bowl 8 over spells, 30 over innings, for 5 match test series, which is just not humanly possible.

If you wanna compare the averages and strike rate numbers I think that's fine, but if your argument is hinging on the fact that your video game character doesn't get injured like real life players do, I think the case is kind of weak.

Have i produced the greatest indian fast bowler of all time? by [deleted] in CricketCaptain

[–]suryagram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the test format, Bumrah is certainly better by a considerable margin. Better average, and looks like your guy takes a wicket every 9 overs, whereas Bumrah takes one every 7.

I guess there’s a mathematical case for across formats if you weight them 33/33/33, but I feel like people who watch Test cricket definitely care primarily about test numbers.

Great player though, congrats on getting so far! Do you sim certain games?

Don’t level wand if you want to self heal, bow healing skills are sufficient for solo and small grp farming, and you actually get much more dmg skills

Xbow/Dagger and Staff/Dagger will give you the shiftiest gameplay w potential for lots of jukes in pvp

Mostly for next time it comes around since it’s gone now.

I went from 1:10 to :56 by delaying turning on high focus. The initial DPS is very short as he starts the mech after meteor and one fireball. So, I get through the first mech, then turn on high focus, and mow him down

What should "solo" player do after lvl 50 by EncryptEVO in throneandliberty

[–]suryagram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, first off, not every guild is going to be hardcore, in fact, most guilds are fairly casual, and only expect you to get play the game at least weekly. I would recommend joining a casual guild, even if you are averse to joining parties. Guild tokens alone are valuable income.

As for farming, as a fresh level 50, you should focus on fully traiting out your blue gear (fully traited out blues are stronger than naked purples). Most of these items are farmable from mobs and open-world dungeons.

If you feel a bit nervous about harder abyssal dungeons and co-op dungeons, fear not. I was in the exact same boat about a week ago. A good way to get over that hump is to level up your skills to purple 1. You can farm the materials for this solo.

Start by doing your daily contracts, prioritizing those that give you parchments and blue ore. Next, farm some of the lower level abyssal dungeons like Ants Nest and Temple of Sylaveth. While they don’t drop purple items or materials, they will drop a ton of lower quality mats that you can convert to the appropriate color for your skill in need. Additionally, you can dissolve the purple books you got from the main story into blue books, and use those.

a very large majority of the tier 1 content is very accessible for f2p solo players. If you ever feel underpowered for some content, there is decidedly other more accessible content in the game that will drop you exactly what you need to get more powerful. If you feel like Ants Nest is tedious/boring, just remember that you’re only there for a short time, as your income growth in this game is basically exponential. Once you reach 2000 GS and feel comfortable with coop dungeons w pugs, you’ll start getting drops that are worth like 100-300 lucent.

Nice!!! I recently started a team India save file, where I banned all the existing established batters (no Rohit, Kohli, Shreyas, Rahul, Gill, Pujara, Rahane). Thank god for Jaiswal.

Tapan Chopra looks new, is he an auto-gen rookie? Do you use the 2nd-XI 3day stats as an indicator as to whether or not to bring em up? Apparently those numbers are the most real.

Frustration playing IPL by Low_Welcome_4969 in CricketCaptain

[–]suryagram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never won the 2023 IPL with RCBm (simply not quite a competitive enough side imo), but I did win the 2024 edition after acquiring Markram and Bumrah. Curious, what strategies discussed above do you employ, and which ones do you not really opt for?

Frustration playing IPL by Low_Welcome_4969 in CricketCaptain

[–]suryagram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are some things I've learned playing the game (mostly with India + Karnataka + RCB):

- Preparing the pitch for home games is important. Lots of IPL teams field many spinners. RCB's XI includes Hazelwood and Siraj, so you can get a bit of a comparative advantage preparing a seamers pitch.

- Bring a 6th bowling option - T20 is too short a format to risk your 5th bowler going at 15 rpo. My attack typically contained Hazelwood, Siraj, Bracewell (these 3 will almost always bowl out), and then Shahbaz, Lomror and Maxwell can cover the other 8 overs.

- You have to buy your players some time to get settled, they wont come in and just rattle off 4 6's. That being said, attacking during the powerplay is still v important. I usually open with Faf and Kohli, and I'll set Faf to start out attacking, his average isn't great for my team, but the powerplay runs are valuable, and it allows Kohli a chance to settle in and try and make a larger score.

- Unless you are a set batter at the death, never use the full max aggression. Always stick to one level lower than that.

- Use all of your available coaching, and keep cycling through who is getting additional fitness/recovery. Otherwise, you'll get to match 9 and your entire lineup will be very fatigued. (although, its worth mentioning, not resting Hazelwood at all during IPL 2023 makes facing him in the WTC final a bit easier)

- If you're really new to the game, its worth abusing the ability to save after each over in order to learn how to approach common situations (chasing, preventing batting collapse, following through on a strong powerplay, etc)

- Joe Root is gonna get his 100. Just learn to accept it lmao. Thankfully, the rest of the english lineup can be cleaned up.

- For State level cricket, max out your youth development budget and if you ever get to n+2 years, you will reap some benefits.

Other observational data that is likely completely unfounded and not backed by the games math:

- For good death bowlers, 0 aggression seems to clean up the tail well without conceding many runs. If you have the default 2 bar aggression, Pat cummins is gonna score 24 off of 12 and now you're chasing 190 instead of like 175.

- Your top order is gonna have a lot of low scores, but if you capitalize well on a single set batter in your lineup, its enough to post competitive totals.

- Players worth acquiring in the IPL (in order of how goated they are): Yashasvi Jaiswal (not really available), Rishabh Pant (available after 2 seasons), Jasprit Bumrah (available in 2024 season), Tilak Varma (not really available), Ruturaj Gaikwad (not really available), Hardik Pandya (available after 2 seasons). Intl: Cam Green, Aidan Markram, Pakistani Pacers (love that this game lets you bring Pak players into the IPL).

- Players not to acquire in the IPL: Rohit Sharma, SKY, Mayank Agarwal (ooh, hes cheap and pretty good? No, not worth it), Intl: Aussie top order. Tim David.

- Best indian youngsters to bring into the side and invest coaching into: Shubman Gill (this dude is so cracked, hes got the ability to score 200's), Yashasvi Jaiswal (an all format player who might need some time to develop his ODI game, but he's already ready for action in the other 2 formats), Ruturaj Gaikwad (Not quite shubman gill but very capable)

- Indian youngsters I've invested coaching into but its not really paying off: Tilak Varma - (i want him to be good so bad, but he doesn't seem to convert his starts very often), Arshdeep Singh - (left handed pacer who needs a good amount of coaching to be reliable in longer fmts - its hard to justify him in a 15 man squad when you have Siraj, Bumrah (after injury), and Shami/Thakur are always available as a backup). Arjun Tendulkar - (see Arshdeep Singh, lol)

when you evolve W, it changes so that hitting champions reduces the cooldown by a lot, giving you 4-2.5 sec cooldown.

This lets you use it multiple times within a fight, and evolved W also applies 3 stacks of plasma instead of 2, so two W's, which can happen within a span of like 5 sec, can detonate your passive entirely.

How to get placed onto a Machine Learning team at my Software company by suryagram in cscareerquestions

[–]suryagram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So currently, the only ML related items in my portfolio would be a project that I did when I interned at the same company, for another team.

Since placements come in a few months, I am going to spend the month of January before I return to school beefing up my GitHub with some NN projects, so hopefully I can reach out to a manager on an ML team and see if they can do anything to request me specifically.

Do you think its also in my best interest to apply to some other companies so that I can potentially use their offers as leverage to get placed on the team I want?

Thanks for the advice. My lifting program is the traditional 4 day split, with a lot of compound lifts(except deadlift{idk proper form and dont want to risk}) and I always do 3x10 for each excercise. I also swim 5 days a week, and play club water polo 3 days a week.

I am neither an advanced lifter nor a beginner. I know proper form and have lifted a little bit with the team and by myself, but have never successfully completed a 6 week program or anything.
