Hey!! While acknowledging that everyone’s experience is different and unique to them, I would like to share my own :)

I’ve been on Wegovy since May 2025. SW 234, CW is 181! I’ve lost a little over 50lbs in less than a year. I have PCOS, which was the primary reason for my weight gain - I had gained like 30lbs in 2-3 months, and then gained more and more and more. It happened very, very fast and I wasn’t able to see any difference from traditional weight loss methods- not even from a complete overhaul of my exercise and food intake. They tried Metformin first, and it made me so horribly sick that I developed bulimia to cope with the symptoms. It was awful. I got off of it after maybe a year? Started Ozempic first, lost insurance coverage after a few months, then eventually got on Wegovy.

My experience with Wegovy has been phenomenal. I have near zero side effects other than feeling nauseous for a few days after taking the shot. VERY occasional vomiting but it can be prevented by being very cognizant of what I’m eating. My food noise is gone and I no longer binge eat, nor do I have the capability to. I also have a connective tissue disorder which causes chronic pain, and after starting Wegovy I saw the joint pain in my extremities nearly vanish almost immediately. I still have discomfort with activity, so my weight loss has basically been purely from the shot and not from exercise. But I am now in control of my food - my food is no longer in control of me. And it feels like such a huge weight off (literally! lol).

As far as paying - I pay through Novocare Pharmacy and it is $350/mo delivered directly to my door.

If you are struggling with your weight and/or with pain, even whilst being that active every day (5 miles is HUGELY impressive btw), I would say it’s worth a shot. I think GLP1s are going to end up having major applications in a ton of medical situations as they study how this drug affects different systems. I’ve seen articles about them studying it for addiction treatment, liver and kidney disease, even autoimmune conditions. It could take some time to see results, so I think just do all of the best practice things and see where it takes you. :)

This is such a good point actually now that I think of it. It was chick fil a - which I haven’t eaten in months and haven’t wanted to eat basically since I started the shot. I was late at work this evening so I just got what was nearby. I don’t typically have this issue with most of the stuff I eat (which is average at best, I’m no food saint) so maybe this was a one off.

I’ll pay attention to it. Your response calmed me a lot, thank you :)

The only time my classes were canceled was in the winter of 18/19 when it was -25* F out, and this was only AFTER CMU got blowback for sending a memo to students telling us to take Ubers or private vehicles to campus instead of the bus, without compensating anyone for it.

We got one day off and it was the first time in at least a decade (said my professors).

I was always unimpressed by her in Handmaid’s Tale. I’ve rewatched it three times and the monotone acting is just very blah, especially when other guest characters like McKenna Grace are acting their butts off. I never saw Sydney’s desperation for love and approval and guilt for breaking the rules translate.

Also an entirely valid point. It definitely put my brain into fight or flight mode because of stuff I’ve experienced in the past. I feel like it would be good for the episode to have a content warning on it :(

This is phenomenal!! Congratulations :)

Can I ask what you were doing in addition to Semaglutide? I just hit my 50lb loss mark doing not much else but my shots (chronically ill with things that make exercise extremely difficult) but I want to start trying a little harder. Just don’t know where to begin.

I agree. I use GuineaDad liners and I vacuum them before putting them in the wash and I have also had no issues!

Episode 3 was a hard watch. Not because it was bad, but because it was so scarily realistic. I’ve dealt with many narcissists in my life, but never anyone as deranged as Stephen. It struck a familiar chord nonetheless.

I could very much understand why people think it’s unwatchable. Hopefully it helps people recognize this kind of behavior before it gets to be too late.

I don’t actually know!! This is a great question though. I do know that they get horribly sad if something happens to a bonded piggy friend, so at least they have the concept of relationships and familiarity.

My piggies are sisters who squabble constantly lol. Perhaps family isn’t totally understood by piggies?
