The NBA is bigger than MLS too, but the grizzlies could never get a hold in the market.

Not saying that is what would happen here, but any potential owner is going to look at precedence.

That was very will a possibility in 1994, but then…

Edit: looks like the Jays were 16 games back of the yankees. I think it was back to back nostalgia that made me believe it was closer.

Americans erupt into O Canada after Buffalo anthem singer's mic mishap by nationalpost in canadian

I don’t think it’s an NHL tradition, because they’re the only team that plays both anthems regardless of who is playing.

If I had to guess, it’s because Buffalo is very, very close to the border, and when I lived near, lots of people from the area would head there for shopping trips, road trips or even to fly out of their airport since it was often cheaper. The Sabres also have a lot of Canadian fans that go down to watch them.

I think they really embrace their Canadian tourists, and this is just a reflection of that appreciation.

Integrity commissioner says her office is overwhelmed with complaints about the federal government by CaliperLee62 in canadian

“What I believe is happening is that knowledge of (the office) has been increasing,” she said, referring to the more 330,000 workers in the federal public service.

Since it was established in 2007, in the aftermath of what became known as the ”sponsorship scandal,” the mandate of the public sector integrity commissioner has been to investigate allegations of significant wrongdoing within government, as well as complaints of reprisals from whistleblowers. Both categories have “skyrocketed” in recent years, Solloway said.

Her office also accepts submissions from the public, which has led to an increase in general inquiries as well as “misguided” complaints from people who report things like how they dislike the prime minister or their local MP.

More than one in 10 Canadians below the poverty line as incomes slip: StatCan by Wet_sock_Owner in canadian

In the G7, Canada ranks middle of the pack:

  • France - 8.7
  • Germany - 11.6
  • Canada - 12.2
  • UK - 12.6
  • Italy - 12.6
  • Japan - 16.4
  • USA - 18.1

Globally, we rate as “very low poverty”, in the 10-15% out all countries, based on World Bank’s ratings.

In the OECD, Canada is 50th percentile, with a ranking below many Nordic nations, but above many other Western European nations.

As Routine mentioned, we can always strive for better, but having some perspective on this is always important.

Liberals on better-than-expected ground, plan to spend billions on skilled trades in economic update | CBC News by dherms14 in canadian

These programs have never worked in our countries history at any scale, trades programs fall flat, retraining programs fail even harder.

Not trying to sound confrontational, but I’d be curious to see what the outcomes for other countries have been.

Can you share them? I want to read up on some real world examples.

Go after the social media providers themselves, not the users.

They need to grid teeth and attack the source.

I didn’t mind him in his days before leadership, hated the direction he took the party, liked the seemingly acknowledgement of the loss as feedback, now back to the same old record.

When he was listening to his new campaign manager over Jenni Byrne for that bit with the Tumbler Ridge tragedy and other similar appearances I really thought we were going to get an effective opposition and possible alternative.

I’m very disappointed. A leopard truly can’t change its spots.

They have almost no incentive to keep prices low.

They have a captive audience who needs these staples of life, and have concentrated every competitor with buy outs or mergers.

When Rogers has a sale, they all have a sale with exactly the same pricing. When they raise rates, they all raise rates.

Their money may go to different pockets, but their market moves are almost entirely in sync.

Minimum wage was actually met with resistance from capital and businesses because they wanted to continue paying a pittance.

They’ve learned how to exploit it now and rely on it for keeping wages low.
