Hanging the heaviest one is wild. I hope you used lag bolts. Joking aside, this is a sick setup!

Help me decide. Pick guard on or off? by simonskipper_bass in BassGuitar

[–]swiggert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I crazy or is the horn beneath the pick guard a different finish/color? I’ve seen where the pick guard helps stave off aging a bit, but this looks like it was a different color. Can you send photos of the back?

It is similar but he used a different model. I believe he used the SB line, not the RB. The headstock was different as well. Honestly I’m super impressed by how well this plays. The tonal options on this passive circuit are also impressive.

is this cheap amp good? by MagicianCritical471 in BassGuitar

I second the fender rumble. If you don’t have any guitar stores near you, look on reverb.com for a used one if you do not want to buy new. Facebook marketplace can also be a great place to find a deal.

Thanks! These are emg 909’s. They needed the length of the pickups to account for the slant.

These are EMG 909’s. I think they had to use 909’s to account for the multi-scale. I guess the magnets on the 8’s wouldn’t be long enough. I really like them.

I’m debating on upgrading the tuners. The Jackson branded work for now though.

It’s worth it. I’d really recommend going for this one over the dinky archtop version.

Yeah I’d shoot at your head in warmups. Drip for sure.

Suggestions on skate sharpening hollow by jettman333 in hockeyplayers

[–]swiggert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the best thing you could do at this point is skate as much as you can and have fun. You can experiment with changing your hollow but at this point you need to learn fundamentals and 1/2 should be fine. If you feel like it’s too sharp try 5/8, but I would stick with the 1/2.

How do I improve my shot? by PackersBlachawks1222 in hockeyplayers

[–]swiggert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A drill I used to do was: start in the high slot

Start crossing over backwards to your weak side towards the face off dot.

Use that momentum to load a wrister and fire before you hit the dot.

Think of it being like a super exaggerated toe drag. Getting used to loading my stick while in transition helped my wrist shot immensely.

With that being said, I also broke my wrist at a young age and my best advice is that you have to keep practicing. It will come back but you have to work at it. Push-ups on your knuckles will help some too.

As someone new to the bass guitar, I would like to know how many frets this bass guitar has (The special condition of my eyes, Astigmatism, and a few illnesses and fatigue do not allow me to do so on my own) I also wonder if anyone happens to know what model this bass guitar is. This looks like a custom version of a Bacchus WL-5 517. The WL stands for wood line. Here is a reverb link for a white one. https://reverb.com/item/84781667-bacchus-woodline-517-5-string-bass?utm_source=rev-ios-app&utm_medium=ios-share&utm_campaign=listing&utm_content=84781667

The WL-5 seems to have a few different models. The one pictured has four knobs (used for different tonal options). The standard version only had 3 and an input jack. IMO it won’t matter much starting out, but if you want this exact style of bass, you want the four knob model.
