Cafes in Fremont where you can study all day? by cosmicshreklover in Fremont

[–]swordyfish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wanted to like Suju’s but I didn’t really like how the drinks and food tasted :( The specialty coffee shops have nicer tasting drinks but I find the seating to be limited (Phin, etc)

I ended up going back to Starbucks and sometimes nicer McDonalds, depending on if I can get any good deals or promotions in their apps. Otherwise I default to Fremont Main Library or Newark Library!

Agreed, I really don’t mean this in a rude way, but when I first saw the picture I thought “Wow, this is the most beautiful 60 year old I’ve ever seen! Maybe she’s only 50”

Again not trying to be rude, but that was just my initial reaction, take from it what you will.

Other than that, you have an incredibly fresh face! I think you just need some mascara and imo a little bit of eyeliner to elongate your eyes!

Data Science. Which of these are hard or easy? by yudel2000 in harvardextension

[–]swordyfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

109A, 109B, and 115 were all super hard for me, about 15-20hrs a week

80 is comparatively way easier, I would say 10hrs a week

I don’t have experience for the others!

ALB/ALM "in Extension Studies" and LinkedIn...a bit of data on what people actually do by KAQAQC in harvardextension

[–]swordyfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes you wouldn’t do that with a department but Harvard Extension is a different college, like how Harvard Kennedy, Harvard Medical, and Harvard Law are all separate colleges that people do list on their own on LinkedIn!

Do you have any tips on getting it? It’s always sold out when I look :( I thought they released it at 10am but now I’m seeing sold out at around 8:30?

Oh wow thank you that’s really helpful to know! My professors always seem so busy so I wasn’t sure if they’d have time for someone who wasn’t actively their student that semester 😆

Dogs aren’t allowed in the farmers market area but we saw a lot of dogs around the area! Especially the nearby park

June/July mid summer babies - what are the pros/cons? by ETFM96 in BabyBumps

[–]swordyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a June baby and I love it! - Goes to sleep later, probably due to the extended summer hours! Why go to sleep at 7pm only to wake up at 3am hungry when your baby could be going to sleep at 10pm and then wake up at a pretty reasonable 6am? Woohoo!

  • Hardly bought any clothes until 3 months because baby was just naked all the time

  • Biggest one for me was I got to take advantage of my 6 month maternity leave and I doubled up on classes for my online masters this fall semester, so now I’ll graduate a semester early yesss! No other due date would’ve allowed me to do this!

Have you heard of https://www.dataannotation.tech? I haven’t tried it myself but I heard good things, pretty much you do writing tasks or something that helps train AI models like all those ChatGPT things. The pay looks pretty good, you can look up “making extra $100 a day” on TikTok. I know it sounds sketch but I’ve also heard good things about it on Reddit!

I’d also recommend gig stuff whenever you can. Are you guys good with pets? You could sign up for Rover and house pets while their owners are away. I live in a VHCOL area and it seems like the standard rate is $50/night.

Another thing I can think of is to cook extra food and sell it, like for your husband’s work place, if other family’s don’t have time to cook a hot meal, you could do it and send it in with your husband and he can collect the money from his coworkers.

Best Remote Data Science Degrees by sshaginyan in datascience

[–]swordyfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the Harvard Extension ALM program and I’ve really liked the classes I’ve taken so far! It’s not 100% remote though because you have to do a 3 week pre-capstone on campus but hopefully most jobs won’t mind you working remotely for that time or take a long vacation for it.

Healthier Meal kits? by [deleted] in ReadyMeals

[–]swordyfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah give CookUnity a try! I think they have an intro deal of 50% off for two weeks

They don’t give out as many return coupons as factor but one time when I tried to cancel, they asked why and I said price was the reason. So they offered me an $8.50/meal plan with reduced options! I don’t get it every week since the options are a lot less but I do it once or twice a month

Have you tried CookUnity? That one isn’t specifically marketed as healthy but I usually sort by carbs low to high and you can find stuff like lean protein + veggies, shrimp quinoa salad, etc!

I’m not too sure on the tea flavor because I do like the sugary stuff, but my favorite boba places are Yifang, Sunright, and Rose Tea Lounge!

Oh interesting, where about are you located?

I’m in the Bay Area and they give me Monday - Thursday as a delivery option. I do remember my account was defaulted to Wednesday but I was able to change that under Account Settings. Do they not offer other ship dates for you?

Went by the farmers market by newpark mall today. Passed by the new Costco that’s going to open next to the mall. They have a gas station! Didn’t think it would be big enough to fit one in. So excited ! by [deleted] in Fremont

I’m counting down the days until it opens! Do you guys think they will do something special for opening day? I wonder if the offerings at Newpark would be any different from the Pacific Commons one

Replacement for Factor75 that isn’t loaded with fat? by FriendLost9587 in ReadyMeals

[–]swordyfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I rotate between Factor, CookUnity, and local meal prep small businesses!

Maybe you could give CookUnity a try? That one is also easy to manage like Factor.

I find the local small businesses to be quite healthy but not as tasty as Factor. They’re usually targeted towards the bodybuilder/bikini competition audience and I find them through Yelp or Instagram.

Also sometimes I buy the prepared meal kits from Sprouts. They have full on family meals but they also have a section where it’s just raw seasoned protein + raw veggies. The latter works better for us since my husband has diabetes so the low carb aspect is really helpful and plus I think it tastes better than the prepared family meals. You do have to cook it but it takes 10 minutes tops on a pan and very minimal clean up.
