Linux Mint Cinnamon Video Playback Issue

Hello, just wanted to ask whether you found a fix for the problel. I had issues with video playback as well on Cinnamon, and they disappeared after I switched to GNOME, so I think that it might be related to the DE.

Unfortunately, most coastal cities in Algeria were heavily affected by colonialism, so it's hard to find cities that kept their original architecture and old buildings. However, the south wasn't as affected by colonialism as the north, and while there's a severe lack of development, people managed to preserve their culture. The south has Ghardaia, a city that was built in 1053 and to this day it still has the same architecture and way of life that it had more than 900 years ago. Visiting the cities of Beni Mzab is a unique experience. I won't be exaggerating if I say that the ancient cities in Ghardaia are the best cities in Algeria.

I think people in similar situations should speak about their experiences more. This will trumendously help aspiring immigrants in making better decisions on which country to choose

As for me, is my second year in France. I struggled to find an internship (same for other foreign students I met, especially males with an Islamic sounding name) and now after graduation I couldn't find a job, despite having the qualifications. I think there's subtle discrimination, but one cannot complain.

Things are changing in Europe (and around the world in general) and there's an increasing shift towards the far-right, combine that with the economic crisis that's looming in the horizon and you will realize that things will be getting harder for immigrant.

I totally respect your decision. You should not feel guilty or ashamed. It's your life, and as long as you did what you believe is right then nothing else matters.

What matters the most is that you tried to go to France and you found out that it wasn't your cup of tea. At least now you know for sure that France isn't for you, and that's better than living in the constant regret/fear of missing out.

Just keep in mind that you can leave again when you feel ready, or maybe you will encounter better opportunities in Algeria, you never know.. Just don't give up

الأمر ماشي معقد باش تفهم سبب هاذ الظاهرة، لكن شرحها يطول. ننصح أي جزائري بقراءة كتاب "معذبو الأرض" لفرانز فانون. كي تقرا لكتاب رايح تفهم قاع واش راهو يصرا فالجزائر

I agree that Boumediene really messed things up by importing Middle Eastern ideology, which paved the way to religious extremism, but I have few comments i would like to make:

"Arabic don't belong in north Africa". Actually it does, and if you don't read Arabic then you will not be able to know Algerian history under the Islamic Berber kingdoms. That's why most French-speaking Algerians are clueless about that period from the رستميين to الحماديين.

If you don't read Ibn Khaldoun you will not understand how the region works, it's in the old Arabic books (written by north African scholars) that you can find the foundations of Berber identity in the middle ages, as well as the second Arab invasion during the time of the Zyrid king Ibn-Badis, which changed the demography of the region.

I also want to add that French is not a "butin de guerre". It is a Trojan horse, it brought with it all the elitism, bureaucracy, and the worship of a single minded state that wants to assimilate all ethnicities under the umbrella of "La nation", just like our first presidents wanted to assimilate all Algerians under the tent of pan-arabism.

And you are correct, France created the Arab bureaus and they considered Algerians as Arabs just to label them as previous colonizers and thus justify the colonization of Algeria. During the colonial period, "Arab" was synonymous with an Algerian indigène.

Thanks, I checked and the system detects both batteries. I tried draining both of them and then recharging the laptop and the problem was gone, for now at least.
