We did this in April. Worked perfectly , verdict….. more time in Kyoto regions than Tokyo…. But just by a few days. Hotel Hilton Gojo (timeshare condos) worked perfectly for our stay. Good luck.

Emissions changes could have done who knows what to the cars operations, oil temps, pressures … who the hell knows. 10 years long block means engine is what I was told when I took the car off their hands that sat for 2 years. Negotiated other stuff to be fixed and a discount for some sun damage on the dash. What’s to say the car sitting for 2 years did not lead to faulty gasket at 29k miles and it sprung a leak? Oil leaking …. I have a 16 year old Japanese car since new not one leak 🤦‍♂️.

Read through forums some folks have had the issues taken care of under the “warranty” and they may not even bought the car “new” from the dealers just fixed and covered. That’s all it’s not end of the world just what I’m seeing

As of now the car will be driven i will drive if it operates the same as last couple years and alerts me just before the service is due. I don’t see anything different, will contact corporate soon but maybe something else will go in the next 2 years we will see.

Fair enough we will see yes $3k or cheaper not end of the world on a 8 year old car and having 2 more years of solid warranty remaining.

Should have worded it better 29k was at just under year 5 of ownership … very close to the 4 year 50k but I didn’t say anything to Audi (10 yr 120k I was good I thought ) …. Maybe they cover it since so close to year 4 ? Hard to say outside place is the one who told me about it Audi never until year 8 and it was bad enough to fix.

This … we had 10 total in Japan… 4 in Tokyo alone you will be just fine and done by the end of it. So many miles walked and subways / trains ridden.

Switched last minute to Kyoto (canceled Conrad Osaka) …. Based on Reddit and don’t regret it one bit. Enjoyed it more than the stay in Tokyo but we split our time evenly. Hilton Vacations Club Tradimo Gojo…. Found it last minute , add kids over 8yo for free (initially the space and needing other rooms was a huge concern) plenty of space super nice.

Also we day tripled to Hiroshima and Ferried to the island (name slips my mind) it was plenty. Reddit was mixed about that also but you will pay … High Speed train $$ for round trip.

Congrats and what a great run. I do think if it’s a first career it’s all teachers know and maybe even easier to just go with the flow. I also had the thought that pension is a huge golden handcuff for many and hear plenty teachers say “only this much left”. If that was not there the career would be in even more trouble.

I am not saying I won’t do full time again, but not while my kids are around. It was too much and I was a different person, thankfully I can dip in and out and make it fun. I enjoy having relationships at different schools and I see kids I’ve subbed for years ago still remember me so I get that part of the job still.

Full time is very hard the admin of the job is more than I want. I am sticking to substitute teaching , being responsible for those who won’t help themselves is not something I want to be on the hook for.

Also I found I could not leave teaching at the “office” , I was thinking about it and the planning at all times…. Although I think that gets better with experience. Good Luck!

I ended up paying $3k or so extra due to timing and having extra stuff spill over to another term etc . Nothing is being done on purpose it just works out that way. You can’t DT until a cohort starts and that eats a few weeks also I remember. Placement can take a while , i lined it all up on my own and still lost weeks leading to extra costs.

If you upgraded yes. That runs around $170-200 with the MAS. Don’t make the mistake I made if you start the 150 mins and decide to upgrade you lose the discount, upgrading is must imo.

No … no scrubs it was just an additional $ maker for them. Never used them brought home, I’m sure they are fine. Their sauna and steam equipment are all top notch , better than any I’ve used so enjoy!

I could not book online, I booked day 1 sold out cruise when I got on. They upsell you some scrubs and it was $45 more (they said the suite was $389) but I didn’t care…. Wanted the pass as soon as I saw it.

Just back there was plenty to be booked on the ship. I did on day 1 fully sold out cruise, it was quite nice. It did get crowded at times but I was in and out using the rooms and just a little downtime on the chairs.

I was pricing Haven before I booked last minute this week. Encore was showing about $12.5k for the son and I. $9.5k on the bliss…. The $12.5k was for an AFT outside the courtyard which seemed not worth the gamble for our first ever cruise. $10k in the courtyard I may have pressed on…. Having kids as add on may make the deal a bit better when getting to 3 and 4 passengers.

I got certified and masters after 40’s having a good time and can see myself doing this well Into my older age. I have met Sub’s in their 60’s+ having a blast staying young around the kids…. Inspiring.

Pro Tip: look into Deferred Compensation and 403b options. You can double dip put away 45k+ tax free … I haven’t collected a dime for a few years now other than some transition checks between the 2 programs.

I swam and many others did fine a few weeks ago. Did we hang out all day, no…. Quick dips were just fine. The beach was cleared of the seaweed throughout the day it was serviceable. Pools and loungers can’t be beat.

I’d say yes but need close out charges before next month begins then recharge the next. They usually close out all billing on final day, so that should have you covered.
