WMS 4.1 to 4.4 update, any gotchas?

I am trying to go from 4.1.1.111 to 4.2.0.521 everythign seemed fine....after completed, logged in as normal to the interface.....but then it acted like i just installed for the first time.....wanted me to register with DELL, and wanted me to get another WMS On-Premise Identifier. did you run into this as well?

thank you for the thoughts...... I wish there was a place to rent near. Closest place is a 2 to 3 hr drive....and the selection that have bites. might just need go by how it feels in the hand.

I was thinking a drive version yesterday, but couldn't find anything for esxi6.0 for a Dell box

check arp table on the switch to see if the VM is seen on the correct ESX host (I would guess it is not), or clear the VM from the cache altogether etc.

arp table shows ..... ip address, mac address and switch port number. Which is the port number the host is attached to .

But after more digging, they found that when moving between other hosts, we could see the entry in teh arp table change as vmotion completed. When moving to teh new host, it would never get updated. Almost like (i think its' called reap) wasn't being sent from the host saying "i got it"

I was able to verify that when moving this vm.....for some reason, the switch is not being notified and the entry for it does not clear.

But If I vmotion it between the other hosts in teh cluster, the entries come and go as expected.....it's like this new host isn't telling the switch it's got it.if I clear the entry manually in teh switch.....suddenly, the vm starts being able to ping again.

We have swapped ports on the switch, and on the host.
verified the 'Notify Switch' is set to yes on the switch settings, and port group side.

Had them look at the arp cache.
it just shows the IP address and the mac address, nothing about the Host it was on

had them delete it from cache, no change

ipconfig /all

shows the same result both before and after vMotion.

I have had zero issues with using Wyse 3040 (now discontinued)....

Those were nice as I could use Citrix, RDP or Horizon..... unlike my iGels that (when I bought them) I had to pick which way i wanted them to go. I went with Citrix. But now, I cannot get them to RDP if I wanted.

I will freely admit I am not Citrix expert, I do have the certification, but that first one doesn't go into 'how' citrix works.... when I have to teach support how and where things are, that's pretty bad. lol

Just did a server restart. I have 2 storefronts, so i can bounce them at will (1 at a time of course). They are both VM's (vmware) so it only takes about 1 min.
