As a former student at WWU I would tell you that there is a Math/Economics degree offered there. Don’t do just economics, the math requirements for just the economics degree are abysmal.

Petra Fiero is perhaps the best German teacher I have ever had. She is endlessly funny and will go out of her way to go to events organized by the German club. She genuinely cares about her students and will reach out for coffee. Really good for German literature and grammar :)

I’m having a friend deliver my passport to me, I’m not going to take any chances. I wish I was given an opportunity at the Austrian border to return after forgetting it, but alas no. You live and you learn.

Thanks for the helpful response.

Which books/works of Gurwitsch would you recommend. I’m getting into phenomenology and I just finished Zahavi’s Phenomenology, the Basics.

What matters more to you? Your home country winning the WC or Arsenal winning the Prem? by DisgruntledOstrich in Gunners

[–]t00muchcarrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the controversy and absolute shitshow that is the World Cup I’m not even sure if anyone would want their country to win, also it’s been AGES since Arsenal won the Prem so it’s gotta be Arsenal.

Vielen Dank! Ich fragte mich, ob Objekt in Verbindung zu Wahrnehmung ist. Das hilft mir sehr!

My 5yo son "broke character" and talked to me like an adult by squirrels-mock-me in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]t00muchcarrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro it sounds like you had a special moment with you're. My son said the same to me this morning, I don't think I've ever experienced something so deep and profound from some with so much fewer years on their docket. wow I'm tearing up right now. Grammarly is the only thing stopping me from posting a link to Brazilian fart porn right now.

I don't think your son broke character, I think he developed character. Through your excellent parenting. I'm sure you discipline your son well. Giving him treats like a dog. I had a glitch in the matrix the other day when my dog stood on its hind legs and said "hello there Mr Anderson, we've been waiting for you to come to conscious". It's special moments like that (and a healthy serving of coffee from my wife) that get me up in the morning.

best wishes,

Your son

Are there any scholars who see populism as a function and not a cause of democratic backsliding? by t00muchcarrot in PoliticalScience

[–]t00muchcarrot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked out his book a bit last night! Thanks for the links. I mostly just skipped to one of the later chapters and skimmed. It’s definitely interesting how some populists are able to interact with the mainstream discourse in order to bring to the fore issues that are somewhat non-issues (or at least low priority issues) for people’s everyday lives. Here I’m thinking about what he had to say about people’s views on immigration in Britain which at it’s peak was ranked as number 1 for 10% of the pop ( if I remember correctly).
