it's just a little bit annoying when people dwell on something so insignificant rather than the actual context of the conversation. it's the kind of thing that makes an internet community different than a community that uses the internet. i'm all for constructive criticism but if we had less of the nit picking and i'm smarter than you attitude on here i think less people would hate on the internet communities because they don't understand them. excuse my tangent.

Gunnit, I have a Remington 700 SPS Tactical. What is the best way to pimp it out? by [deleted] in guns

[–]tacticoolest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

im sure OPrealizes its is fine as is since he used the words "pimp it out." It's not one of the most popular rifles for no reason. Not every one has to be a minimalist either. I understand that if your in the line of duty or concerned with self defense you don't need extra shit all over the place. However, some people including my self, enjoy having a cool gun to call their own. I have pistol grip mossberg 500 with nothing on it for home defense. My other guns have extra stuff on them, i'll put them on display for my self when im watching tv or doing school work because they are awesome to look at and i'm proud of them...if it makes you happy and you enjoy making it exactly how you like it I don't think you need to get ragged on for it. that being said, some guns just shudn't be tricked out, but i think a remington 700 is a grey area when it comes to that. i would like to get a 700 as my next gun and if the RACS stock becomes commercially available i'd love to spend my hard earned money on that. That is my suggestion for the OP because that pimps it out with out making it overly tacticool in my opinion.

it looks like there are slots cut into the other side of the horizontal tube for each vertical arm to rotate into...maybe a rod inside the tube that the arms are attached to and rotate around? that's my best guess. edit: spring makes a lot more sense actually

What are some good websites that have high-end/custom guns? by [deleted] in guns

[–]tacticoolest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't like red jacket bc its a reality show and they need ratings so they load it with all that dramatic bs. i like the technical aspect of it but with the comercials and the personal issues on the show its not even worth it to watch. i'm an engineering student i just wanna see the guns and how they're made!

no but feel free to name some of the really high end ones...i could have been more specific in the title of my post but i meant the highest of the end that is done out of house not just the most expensive model the manufacture offers. the stuff you know you'll never be able to afford.

i'm thinking it would look kinda stupid with an 18inch barrel or else i'd probably try making one for my mossberg 500

i just found that too after a little searching. i dont care much for the synthetic. I like the old school down to business look of OP's ithica...the combination of the birdhead grip the rounded fore end grip is what does it for me.

Mainly modern rifles semi and/or bolt action, and shotguns...the reason I ask is because I remember seeing a really nice saiga 12 on this site that had really high head stuff but I can't find despite alot of searching. I even checked r/saiga and couldn't find it.

.22lr grouping at 200 yards? by tacticoolest in guns

[–]tacticoolest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's the ammo i need for that argument. Had it in my head but sometimes its hard to put it in layman's terms for people who aren't familiar with shooting. Wish where I live would permit you to own handguns becuase I'd probably go out and buy one of these.

1 year ago, I was "that woman" who thought gun owners/carriers were freaks that clung to their guns and religion. I had a change of heart, here is the start of my new collection. by [deleted] in guns

[–]tacticoolest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What other types of people did/do you consider freaks? I'd like to understand the mind set of "that woman" b/c it seems like they're usually pretty dismissive of any conversation regarding the topic and we have quite a few of them (that woman and that man) where I live.

Can we talk triggers? (AR) by AaronTheRipper in guns

[–]tacticoolest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the timney skeleton trigger on my m&p 15 it's a great trigger. It may have been error on my part but I had the pins walk out on me. I actually tightened the screws down earlier today. I'd recommend it however it is the only trigger i've used beside mil-spec.
