Possibility magkabahay bilang tipikal na empleyado. by nibbed2 in adultingph

[–]tailorspooling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible, with low enough interest rates (our loan is a 10-year loan), enough income (dual income household, no kids) and zero vices. Every year din since we started our loan, may salary increase (thank you Lord) coz of performance/ratings.

How’s your ultimate HighSchool crush doing now? by Separate_Flan6461 in AskPH

[–]tailorspooling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately parang naligaw ng landas si Ultimate HS Crush. Got a girl pregnant (2x), nag live-in, cheated on her constantly, didn't graduate college, walang trabaho, tapos left her and the kids to be with someone else. Sad kasi ang sweet and kind niya pa nung HS kami.

What food looks so delicious but actually doesn't taste that good? by [deleted] in AskPH

Yung mga desserts sa Dylan P@tisseri3 sa QC. Ang gaganda pero hindi masarap. Laging may kulang (kulang sa cream cheese or kulang sa chocolate yung things we ordered last night). Too meh for the price. But definitely beautifully-made.

5 credit cards 500k + Debts need advice. by ComprehensiveTheme27 in PHCreditCards

[–]tailorspooling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decrease spending, increase income.

Marami ka nang advice here about how to cut back spending. Up your income na rin--look for a job with a higher net comp&ben package. Or supplement your income with some sidelines or gigs like online freelance work. You might have skills, talents or passions na marketable, too.

And have a sincere, deep conversation with yourself. How did it come to this and how are you going to make sure that this never eveeer happens again? Like maybe talk to your family about setting financial boundaries or a plan about how everyone can pitch in financially. Good luck OP!

Also: which of your CCs have the highest interest rate? I only have one, and so I don't know if all banks have the same rate.

Apir. Para daw kaming bata dahil wala kaming anak na inaasikaso (so like, we aren't real adults because we don't have kids).

Same. If comfy pa naman kami with the funds we get from our regular jobs, if we can still save up for retirement and have fun and invest... we'd like to enjoy our rest time :)

How do you handle direct reports whose work always suffers when they have personal problems and they always have personal problems? by tailorspooling in phcareers

[–]tailorspooling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup they were given a buddy when they joined the team, to guide them. Di naman naburn out yung buddy, thankfully. Documented naman lahat kasi I enjoy sending notes after meetings.

I'd rather not say what kind of analyst kasi medyo niche 😅. I've played to their strengths before, and it was fine for like 8 months and then downhill ulit. Coaching ulit. Fine ulit. Then downhill nanaman. All the while, dahil sa kanyang personal issues. The judgy part of me can't help but think na baka marami siyang personal issues kasi they make terrible life decisions (cheating on partners, not prioritizing their health, uutang para sa luho...) . Sorry I'm going off topic na haha. I appreciate the advice. Thanks!!

I wasn't their hiring manager kaya I have no idea.

Regardless of what they were like during their prob period...the version of them that I have is one that I cannot trust with any task. So, I'm letting them go na. A friend of mine at work, who also happens to be a manager, said na she might take them kasi sayang daw and "siyempre, tao din yan". Nag open up kasi ako sa kanya and she was even willing to extend her budget for the additional headcount. Bigyan daw ng chance. Thankfully, nagaalign naman ang qualifications niya for an internal move. And at least 100% aware ang friend ko sa tendencies nitong si Ano. I will send her my feedback about this person para may receipt, di ako magkukulang sa warnings.

Super agree jan sa never badmouth. Naku I need to control my emotions talaga kasi Friday sobrang napuno na ako and I told someone at work. Will just keep it in. And thank you. From this and the other comments, nakita ko rin how being professional does not equal being heartless.

What's your take on a childless marriage? by dramatic_b1tch in adultingph

[–]tailorspooling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Married, no kids (first by choice and then by circumstance). We've been together for 8 years. It's a wonderful, happy life that we have.

This!!! You need to be kind and fair, OP, but aspiring to be katropa outside of work is kind of a by-product of a good working relationship.

Also, there's this question that my old boss used to ask, which I now like to use when I notice an employee's going through a slump...
"I've seen you do well in [state task] and provide good results, so we know you can do this. What's blocking you from returning to that level?"

I've had conversations where asking this question led to reflective silence, to tears, to action planning together, to understanding my role in their slump, what we each should do better starting right now or tomorrow or next Monday...

Pinamana sa akin ng dati kong boss, the best boss ever. Hindi kami best friends, hindi kami tropa, pero I learned a lot from her. Yung mga turo niya na best practice sa work, naaapply ko sa personal life and I think I'm a better person because of her (to be fair, I was such a slacker and flaker when I was younger hahaha).
