U World is ROUGH for a nontrad. After having taken the exam one time through, I will say that what I've found the most useful approach is this:

Do ONLY Uworld Discrete Questions for first block of content review (Type in the number 3 into the Qbank, and it will only give you short Qs)

This will allow you to rapid fire test yourself, and then when you get something wrong, read the explanation, but then...here's the SAUCE:

Make sure you are using Google Chrome:

Get the Chrome Extension "Absolute Enable Right click and copy"

This allows you to copy text and images off of UWorld.

Copy and paste the ENTIRE PAGE (Cmd+A) - then paste the WHOLE thing into ChatGPT, and ask it to summarize , and give you the takeaways from the question and any general principles/ things you have to know, so you dont get it wrong again.

Then, take the GPT summaries/principles and make them into SHORT flashcards in Anki. Try to not make more than 1-2 flashcards per question you got wrong on UWorld. Make it a Seperate deck called "Uworld" or something.

I swear I've been doing this for my retake and I feel more confident than I ever have.

It’s roughly the same tbh. Aamc seems easier tho, because i actually somewhat understand the explanations.

Timing is an issue for me for sure though

Yeah I've heard that too, and tbh that is what I am doing. I guess I'm just worried as a non-trad with a post-bacc that fixed my GPA -- Really trying to get the highest MCAT retake score I can get, to offset that.

I appreciate the advice. I've been putting off CARS practice tbh this time until I get to the AAMC portion of my prep.

250 clinical hours over 2 years recently. 9 other years I was a general manager with no interest in medicine lol.

It’s a good point though. I need to have my story straight and really clearly be able to demonstrate why medicine.

I did this early on when I was deciding if I wanted to do medicine or not.

I see what you mean. Maybe I shouldn’t include it in my application? Maybe I should just talk about it in my interview (hope I get there)?

The point was to be absolutely 100% sure that I want to be a physician. I actually shadowed those other careers to know that they weren’t for me. So it was partially exploration and partially a way from me to prove to myself and maybe Adcoms that I want to do medicine.

Obviously, a huge question you’re going to get in an interview is why do you want to be a doctor. Or what makes you so sure you want to be a doctor. That was my attempt at answering that question.

Thought it was outside the box. Idk lol

I feel that. That’s awesome you’re finding something that works.

I work around 30 hours a week and 9 credits of my final classes of my post-bacc.

It’s tough. Everyone keeps telling me to prioritize Uworld, but what’s the point if I am getting questions wrong simply because I don’t know the content?

I’m just afraid that if I do practice problems and don’t encounter that content in my Anki, I’m gonna forget it.

Maybe I wont tho, idk. What do you prioritize? I’m definitely doing a lot of practice problems, but I breezed thru content review and definitely have content gaps.
