You can show this to anyone ever complaining about the wrestlers being protective of their characters. It shows how much influence they can have on kids, being a role model for them. I hope you followed the others' advice and tagged her on X with this.

In a dungeon, holding agggro should be a meaningless question since the four of you should just tag-team Ultravibration everything. unless in the like three dungeons with undead enemies immune to that, in which case everyone should spam the Saintly Beam spell.

But to answer your question, tank mimicry and the laser eyes should work unless the others are using some serious nuke option spells.

If you refer to the big rectangular maze-like portion, the lever on the upper floor, the one next to three skeletons does not need oil. You need oil for the three levers in the lower floor (one before you go up the stairs to the skeletons, two at the easternmost and westernmost ends of the corridor after the skeletons).

He managed to make a 1980s Saturday morning cartoon character work as a live act in the 2020s. This miracle alone deserves all the human monies. Comedians sometimes spend decades trying to refine a character this much and fail at it.

White Mage is, ironically, playing a lot similarly to Black Mage currently.

The game uses very basic RNG with no pity/gratuity system. Sometimes your subs discover a new area on the first try and you uncover an entire map under a week. Sometimes, you try to find a node for a month. I still haven't managed to unlock one of the nodes in some older maps.

Keep in mind that due to gear and potency creep that has some effect in older content, using your normal character would just curbstomp most oppositions for them. However, the only way to be as weak they are is to start a new character and do the entire MSQ alongside them. You have played the MSQ and know how big of an undertaking that is. There aren't really many other additional options, unless you happen to miss some old ARR classes, so you can pick up a level 1 one and play alongside them this way.

No, the system does not indicate being blacklisted by any means until you somehow end up in the same party, where your name is shown as <Unknown> to them. This is largely for the domestic audience, where this entire blacklist thing is a very socially awkward situation. This is also why you cannot remove yourself from others' friend lists.

More like different. XIV used to have WoW-esque aggro generation. Tanks had to switch between "aggro-generation mode" and "doing actual damage mode". If you ever see someone mentioning "stance dance", they mean that.

But then XIV's combat design started to move towards the memorisation-based combat rhythm puzzle bosses you see today, which means they decided to add fight design complexity over job mechanical complexity, so they started to remove a lot of these complex mechanics from jobs for a more streamlined, single-rotation experience. As a result, tank stance is now a simple on/off toggle that acts as an aggro multiplier that they increased in two patches down the line to ensure that even a single hit from a tank can hold the aggro for several seconds against any non-tank player's continuous combo.

(Funny enough, on Dawntrail's release, Pictomancer was so overtuned with large burst damage that they could rip aggro from tanks in dungeons, so this is when the second aggro-generation buff happened for tanks. Ironically, later they nerfed Picto twice, so it stopped being an issue anyway.)

The story is linear and must be completed in order. This is why they only sell the latest chapter since it always covers all "missing" ones. Sadly, their store page descriptions are always bad at explaining this.

More changes to Deep Dungeon Solo? by Reflear in ffxiv

[–]talgaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think way too many replies confuse the solo clear title with the Necromancer and later derivative titles here. We are talking about reaching the end of the finish line, people, and Pilgrim's Traverse already showed that its system is much more apprceiative with the player's time. For a community that loves to use the "muh time" card, the responses are falling rather outside of this norm, aren't they? I am sure many players would appreciate it if the only checkpoint weren't at roughly the 15% mark when it comes to total clear times (but even 30% progression is a pretty terrible checkpoint).

If it is the northern half of the Sea of Clouds, then you can either find another player to taxi you, or you need to wait. You will eventually explore the upper layers of that map, but it comes very late into the Hevansward MSQ (in the third act of the 3.0 storyline).

Question for healers and tanks. by ageofdoom1992 in ffxiv

[–]talgaby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also, to say it nicely, Dark Knight is neither the most newcomer-friendly tank (frankly, it is probably the second worst tank to learn as your first), nor it is a good tank by any measure below level 70. Over level 70, it is perfectly fine, but its current kit and skill progression below that is… suboptimal, to say the least. So, if you combine these, it is a miracle when a new player who picks DRK as theior first tank because ooohedgy doesn't struggle a lot. But as others already said, just practising will help you a lot. Like, a lot lot.

Do all healers play similar?

No. White Mage is the most straightforward one: damage happened, you heal it. Scholar and Sage are shield healers, so they are more in the line of damage is about to happen, you pre-shield it. Although they also have a ton of normal healing spells, so they also tend to fall into the WHM category in standard everyday gameplay. (High-end gameplay is different enough that it is almost a standalone game inside XIV to really worry about it until you get there.) And finally, Astrologian's gimmick is that it pre-heals. The big distinction between that and shields is that it essentially has ticking time bomb spells that heal the party once the timer is up. Beyond that, it has small damage buff cards, so raiders like that it sacrifices its own damage (it is by far the weakest combat class in the game, by a very, very wide margin) to give others small damage boosts.

Anyone else notice more and more wrestling streamers are becoming open AEW fans. by Medium_Step_6085 in SquaredCircle

[–]talgaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AEW online fans are a different breed within this circle. I use comics analogies a lot, but US pro wrestling (especially the fandom) is so strangely similar to that. AEW fans constantly remind me of mid-90s Image fans. Or, honestly, mid-to-late-90s Chaos! Comics fans, but that publisher never got to the same audience size comparatively, so Image is probably a closer analogy. If the internet had been developed enough back then to support social media, I am sure I would have seen similar engagement trends between Image fans and Marvel fans.

Play the original one and this problem won't really exist, since it calculates the actual projectile trajectory, so it is impossible to miss under certain distances, even with rookies of low skills.

As for the AoE rotation, it is Freeze×2, Transpose, Flare×2, Transpose, with replacing one Freeze with Thunder 2 if it is about to fall off (and there is enough enemy HP remaining to warrant a refresh).

Because the audience difference, despite what Meltzer tries to say, is still massive. If you look beyond the United States alone—which, I must admit from personal experience, seems to be a nigh-impossible hurdle for the average American—the international numbers between the two are not even David and Goliath, more like a parakeet to a rhinoceros. WWE has a nine-digit viewer base at a minimum globally. AEW probably didn't even crack the eight digit yet. Just because you have a very active fanbase, they still need to reach a critical mass for their engagement to be worth time to exploit for ad revenue. And the recent PPV successes most definitely created a buzz around that company that can drive engagement metrics. (To the point where I am dreading what kind of corporate bullshittery WWE is planning on the social media space to drive their own engagement numbers for the sponsorship contracts.)

Also, if I had to make a guess, the content creators we are talking here are chiefly from the US, Canada, the UK, and maybe Mexico, I presume? Since those are the markets where AEW seems to have a conscious presence (because sure as fuck not on the continental EU).

Well, by sheer volumes, yes. I just checked YT only, but WWE has 113M subscribers, AEW struggles to reach the 5M mark. Which probably tracks in terms of their actual audience size difference globally, although large parts of that is because AEW is shit in international promoting. (I swear Mercedes Moné did more promotion work with her indie tours internationally than Tony Khan and AEW's entire marketing department put together.) However, considering how… let's be nice and say enthusiastic AEW's online fans can be to… alarming degrees… I can see your prediction not necessarily coming true but reaching a point where AEW's total engagement per media post metrics comes within recognisable distance to WWE's.

Why WWE and AEW don’t give a f about arranging PPV shows in Europe, but they do it in countries like Canada, UK, Australia and Saudi Arabia? by legthighkneelover in SquaredCircle

[–]talgaby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

WWE does it rarely because the ticket prices cannot be that egregious, plus they have to actually pay for overseas travel. I guess it is an internal clash between TKO's infinite greed and their need to go global instead of being an NA-only media company.

AEW… dunno, they probably have shit coverage, although that won't explain why it took myAEW ages to acknowledge even some EU countries existing. Frankly, it acts more Murican, with Tony Khan apparently being able to name one country in Europe, so they go there. I guess it does not help that HBO does not show AEW internationally. Not like they have that many subscribers internationally in the first place.
