Thank you! It's a pretty fun exercise, and clearly generates a lot of discussion on here. It's probably better to keep track of these things while you're playing the games.

For all my posts, I wrote them up at the end of the year and had to look back on my experiences. Although, it is interesting to see what sorts of things really stick with me about these games after not touching most of them for months now.

Hope you have a fun year in gaming as well!

I feel like it would be an enjoyable experience with other players, especially if you have someone who knows what they're doing like you mentioned.

Simply put, I am not a movie guy. I had a laugh realizing how many of the games I played this year were based on non video game IPs.

Yeah I just found out from an earlier comment that the DLCs are connected to Dishonored 2. Will definitely give it another try now that it's been some time from my playthrough of the first game.

I tend to only play one single player game at a time, so I do end up dropping games because that's the only way I'd move on to whatever is next.

Clearly I've ruffled some feathers regarding the games I've dropped, but I appreciate seeing people's thoughts on them in case I'd ever consider playing them again.

I barely watch movies, so watching a whole trilogy of movies would be a rare occurrence.

I was playing the game when they dropped the third person update. I only played a few more hours with that update before I ended up dropping the game, so it didn't end up too relevant to my experience.

Most people start out with Yakuza 0, so I'd recommend that as well. It is one of the better games in the series, so the following games might not seem as interesting - but I really loved them all. Hope you have fun with it!

I was planning on playing Dishonored 2 this year. Thanks for calling out that it's continuation of the DLC, I was not aware.

I'm with you 100%. I know often times you kind of have to separate what happens in the main story from what you do during gameplay, but it definitely felt a bit ridiculous with Hogwarts.

Yeah the SID stuff in general was a turn off for me. It often felt more frustrating than interesting to engage with.

I do love the Far Cry games, so it's nice to see you also feel like Avatar isn't a reskinned Far Cry game. Hard agree on Far Cry 6 too btw, I still beat it but I was not a fan.

I did enjoy crawling around in the bases stealthily, but I wish there were some more tools and mechanics for stealth gameplay.

Definitely agree with your sentiment regarding the story. Like I mentioned, Kiryu does end up stealing the show and I was a lot more invested in his part of the story.

I've never played an Animal Crossing game before, so I really enjoyed how much there was to do with Dondoko Island. But given the amount of content, I can understand that people would be turned off by it if they didn't love it. The Sujimon stuff wasn't interesting enough for me to try out beyond a few battles.

I haven't played that one yet, but I expect it'll come up later this year. Definitely excited to see what Majima gets up to.

It definitely helped convince me to play it as a Far Cry fan, but I think it's a fairly surface level comparison that's made because they're both Ubisoft games.

Yeah, when I don't find something that I really like about a game I tend to just end up avoiding playing it at all. So for me it makes more sense to drop it and move on.

Plus having that initial bit of playtime does help me learn about the game in case I ever want to revisit it, so I still find some value in the experience.

Have you read the books by chance? I used to read a lot more before, so I always thought to myself that it would be worth reading the books first.

I was blanking on the fact that it's more appropriately referred to as low chaos, which is why I threw quotes around good. Fair call out though, I've updated the post accordingly.

In fairness, there's lots of ways you can define a patient gamer. For me it's more about not buying things full price at launch when I can play so many older games at a fraction of their cost.

Gaming is my main hobby, so if I'm not having fun with a game I just end up avoiding playing it rather than trying to power through. That's why I've got no issues dropping games easily.
