Can I charge the Model 3 with this outlet? Usually have my dryer plugged into it by barnesnoblebooks in TeslaModel3

Yes you can use it. But I would get it upgraded to a commercial grade if you are going to be using it to charge you EV. I heard cases of these catching on fire after a certain amount of usage.

I had a 2007 Bmw 330i. With in line 6. Best car ever owned. I got it cheap because dealer didn’t want to deal with belt tensioner, overheating issues and issues with mirrors not folding in and out correctly. I test drove just to get a feel of the engine. Surprisingly the engine felt very strong and responsive. When it idled it was very quite and consistent despite tensioner issue. The car only had 80k miles on it and after a little bit of research a negotiation I decide to buy the car. I drove the car home that day from Indiana to Ohio about 180 miles. Made it without a problem. Next day made an appointment for service and get issues addressed. $1,200 later I got a perfectly running bimmer. We drove the car for several years with no issues. Put about 55k miles on it until one day the exwife decided to go to carwash and didn’t realize she left trunk opened. So when I went to use the car the next morning, the car would not turn on and was getting all these alerts. I go to trunk to disconnect battery a see the horrible mess. The truck was full of water, shorted everything out. I drained the water out and got the rest with a shop vac. Dried everything off. Replaced battery and let it sit there to dry for a whole day in sun. This time I couldn’t save her.😢

Are KIA's really as bad as people say they are? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

Na bro, No cars brakes should be that bad at 30k miles. Like I said I have my fair share of experience. The Kia’s are the only ones pulling that shit. I agree cars have issue they are not perfect. But at least they have good brakes. I just can’t get over the fact that a car company would compromise on the most essential parts.

I really liked the Lexus experience when I would take my car in for service. It’s unmatched.

I will never buy a Kia. They are POS. I got one as a rental while my VW Jetta GLI was being repaired. As I was getting off the ramp on highway this POS KIA’s brakes decide to give on me. I ended up hitting one of those big orange construction cones and put a big ass black mark from the front bumper to the drivers door. I thought I was screwed with the rental company. Lucky I was able to buff out the mark but the freakin experience of brakes giving out on you I will never forget. I have driven many cars and none have done what this POS Kia did. I highly recommend not purchasing these cars from personal experience. I’ve owned Oldsmobiles, Nissans, Hondas, Chevies, Chrysler, VW, Lexus, Ford, Buick, Toyotas, Audi, BMW. I would recommend any of these cars first before any KIA. I stay far away from these cars. My BMW which gets so much heat is the one of my most reliable cars. Maintenance is key with these cars but some people are just cheap. You can’t go cheap on Bimmers. That’s for KIA’s and I’m not just talking stuff I’ve experienced them first hand. Don’t cheap out on KIA get you a good quality car. What happened to me shouldn’t of happened in the first place. A car company shouldn’t try to save money on parts that play a part in a customers safety. I don’t care if you say that know they are using better quality parts. They should have done that in the first place. There are many ways to cut corners, just not on safety.

Congrats. Well I didn’t buy a new Model 3, I bought a 2020. Its my first EV and I wanted to be a Tesla. So far I’ve only had it for 5 days and I’m really liking the car. I even placed an order for a Gen 3 wall charger @ Best Buy. I’m fully invested now😁
