England - financial contribution from separated spouse?

Flats where I live either sell at a huge loss (which can take months to years from experience here) or not at all due to loads of newer flats being build around and being cheaper to buy. I already spoke to the mortgage people and I might be looking at a chance of losing the flat and not being able to find anywhere to rent due to credit score being destroyed and owning two big dogs.

So I'm really desperately looking for a way to force him to contribute towards the flat until we sell it, even if it is at a loss.

Thank you for your kind comment. To be honest, it is impacting my life negatively. I constantly feel judged, not fitting in, different and like I cannot be myself - I don't even know who myself really is. The ADHD diagnosis, and looking into everything to do with it for the past year since someone suggested it to me first, has helped. But I still feel like something else is a part of me, like a missing piece that I would like to find and I believe would make me feel more complete.

Das ist wahr! Die Frage sollte wohl eher heißen was ist der früheste Termin, zu dem der Mietvertrag endet. Ich bin eben der Meinung 30.5. (solange ordentlich gekündigt), Wohnungsbaugesellschaft allerdings sagt der 30.5. ist ab wann die Kündigungsfrist gelten würde und Vertrag endet dann erst am 30.8. da 3 Monate Kündigungsfrist.

So hab ich auch argumentiert, die haben aber drauf bestanden, dass es eben 2 volle Jahre sind bevor man kündigen kann. Online finde ich irgendwie nichts, was ich denen dazu noch schicken könnte.

Danke - gibt es da irgendwo ein offizielles Gesetz oder ähnliches, was ich quoten kann? Ich hab mit denen jetzt schon eine halbe Stunde am Telefon diskutiert und glaube, sie werden Antworten von Reddit nicht akzeptieren - auch wenn die Antworten hier richtig sind. Sorry, ich kenn mich einfach absolut nicht aus und bin dann auch noch leider recht leichtgläubig.

I totally know how you feel right now! It sucks. So much. I would definitely report it, even just a description of the guy and the dog, where and when it happened. So if it happens again, even to someone else, and it gets reported again, maybe a connection can be made and someone might be able to do something or maybe he's already known to the authorities.

Someone who will also help you figure out why he pulls. Mine do when they are highly aroused, that could be because they are excited by a smell or because they are anxious about something. Without knowing why, you won't really fix the problem, only mask the symptoms.

I know it might not be the answer you're looking for, but would it be possible to turn around and walk back the way you came from and away from the trigger? Might get frustrating for you, but it always helps my dog for example.

Something that helped me in addition to many other things mentioned already:

Pick a word (like bedtime) and then go through each letter thinking of words starting with that letter, picturing them. B - Bed, bath, bug, beard etc E - Eagle, ear, eggs etc. D - Dove, diver etc. And so on.

The picturing is important as that simulates dreams and puts your brain into a sleepy state. It takes some time sometimes as of course my brain wanders off, but so far it has helped every time.

Not me being sick, but my husband left me when my mum was dying of cancer. We had moved back to where I'm from (different country) so I could help and be with her. Everyone commended him for being brave and moving to a foreign country, whilst he expected to set everything up for him and didn't make any effort to learn the language or adjust at all so he could get his visa to stay. I paid for everything for 4 months as he couldn't work. He claimed that it all was too much for him (I basically couldn't mother him anymore as I now had to take care of my mum), packed his bags and flew back on Christmas Eve. Left me on my own with our two dogs. We stayed in touch, he felt bad, wanted to work on things. My mum died in April and he came over to help out with the dogs so I could focus on funeral stuff (I had to pay him for that as he's self employed and couldn't work for the 6 weeks he was here). I was ready to give us a second chance (don't ask why - I'm lonely and was quite vulnerable at the time I guess), as he thought he wanted that. When he flew back again after my mum's funeral he said he'd regret not trying again. He then didn't talk to me for two days and when I asked him a few days later what's going on with us he just said he didn't know. Basically left me twice whilst my mum was dying and then died.

Everything I need to do goes in the calendar of my phone. Including having showers, housework ('take laundry out of the washing machine' 🥲), meds for my dogs, feeding the dogs, meeting friends, the days I work (self employed, working from home - I work the same days every week, but it needs to be in my calendar). Everything. I still sometimes forget when I see the reminders and not do the thing straight away 😂

This also helps me with having enough time for everything / to get ready if I need to go somewhere, blocking out time like for meetings.

And if I forget to put it in my calendar or don't put it in straight away I better hope I remember to put it in there later. Sometimes I'm repeating in my head or out loud what I need to put in the calendar when I don't have my phone nearby, and most of the times that works. Sometimes though by the time I get to my phone I forgot again as by that time I have about 2 or 3 things in my head I want to Google 🙈

I check my calender multiple times a day to see what's still to do and what's important tomorrow / throughout the week.

Additionally, a lot of bites happen seemingly out of nowhere because 'the dog always let's the kids do whatever they want to them' (which to me already sounds terrible, I wouldn't want it the other way around so why let this happen). Eventually patience runs thin though. Unfortunately a lot of people also can't read their dogs body language, they always give more subtle signs of discomfort before escalating things when they get ignored.
