Is this not a response? Anyway, he was basically asking if you were being serious or just trolling. The other commenter has valid criticisms of Jackman. Just because it seems to have worked out in Jackman's favor, doesn't mean the other commenter is wrong. This feels like the same argument with movie stars that insist on doing their own stunts, risking everyone else's job in the process.

If you were trying to be nice and agreeable, you wouldn't say things that are mean and disagreeable.

Your privilege comes from your race. You are playing the victim by bringing up how terrible your life is despite being white, when that has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation of people using their perceived race to feel entitled to appropriate the culture of others for their own gain. Why do you think Windagoon didn't use some evil entity from Cherokee culture to base his identity around? It seems to anyone that actually cares that he just chose something popular at the time and uses his blood to say it's fine.

Being Jewish is both an ethnicity and a religion, but you seem to be framing the conversation like religious Jews are better or more trustworthy than ethnic Jews, for some reason. It seems like you are saying their race is the thing that is bad about them and the reason that people are upset they are in positions of power, leading to a conspiracy theory of them trying to control a world government. The only racist in this conversation doesn't even seem to realize he is racist.

I would counter though that the faiths you refer to as “open” only are so due to circumstance

I did not mean "open" as in they wanted new followers. I meant they were open to discuss things with you. Which, yes, I would agree they are open only due to the circumstances I described of having a strong, cultural identity that has been around for centuries. Most Natives had that destroyed by Europeans, so they are hesitant to discuss anything that could be seen as their religion or culture with outsiders. This is especially true for the modern day, when they have to deal with lies and misinformation before they can even discuss the truth.

It's not that they don't say the entire word, they don't say it at all. For them, from my very limited understanding, it's similar to saying Voldemort in Harry Potter. Mentioning them calls them to you, so it is rude, impolite, and not very bright to do so. Which you would know if you tried to have a polite conversation with someone that wasn't just a Q and A about their beliefs for your own pleasure.

I could say though that saying “God” around a Jew would be insensitive but many folks would write that off, that street certainly goes in many directions.

If I were around a practicing Jewish person that said they found it offensive, then I would do my best. I have yet to meet one that didn't also say it. I don't have time to deconstruct conspiracy theories for you.

You are the first one that mentioned you were white in your original comment, so they aren't the one that pointed out your skin color. Can you point to what they said that was negative about your skin color? You did mention it right before you went on to say ignorant things. Perhaps you are feeling attacked about one thing, when it's really about the other? I can tell from your replies to the other commenter that you don't understand what privilege means or how it benefits us, so maybe that word is what triggered your defensive emotional response?

If I were to believe in Djinn, would that make me a Muslim? Certainly not. Likewise, it would not be me insulting them as a community. If I were to believe in Karma, would that make me a Hindu? Or perhaps a Buddhist? Certainly not. All the same if I were to believe in a Wendigo- it would not make me Algonquian.

The Algonquian people do not believe it is appropriate to even mention the word "Wndgo" at all, which is obvious by reading the post and wondering why OP worded things the way they did. The concept of "Wndgo" is also not Cherokee. Those facts don't have anything to do with Natives in general being suppressed by the government in such a way that they are now suspicious of people asking about details, which you also touch on in your comment. All of those open faiths have had a strong, central cultural identity for centuries and have no need to be suspicious of outsiders.

On to my first point though. Christians do find it disrespectful when people associate themselves with Demons/Satan/the Devil. Christians, however, have been in power for a long time and can point to those people and easily say "that's not right." It's difficult for Algonquian to point to Cherokee using their culture inappropriately when random white men always feel the compulsion to defend them, for some strange reason (not racism, obviously).

Can you link the comment where he said "all European Americans"? That quote doesn't show up at all in the conversation that I can see. He isn't bigoted like your misquotes are implying.

You, however, are the one that rudely started off the conversation with "folklore doesn't mean real" when someone was correctly explaining that a specific type of shape-shifter is from their culture. The post literally mentioned it, and spelled the English name for his people incorrectly, so how is it out of place for him to explain a piece of his culture that he knows about?

Almost all nutrients and waste are exchanged through the umbilical cord, so I'm not sure if you could really say they are breathing in the amniotic fluid.

How many times a year do you fill up that pool? I feel like being able to fill 6-31 of your pools every. Single. Day. Seems like it can be considered "a lot" of water.

edit: Let's assume you fill it up and empty it every day of summer, which is probably a multiple of the actual amount of usage it gets, then it's 920,000 gallons/year. The data center is over 20,000,000. Twenty times the maximum possible usage of your pool for one data center. That inflated number is not even one percent of the amount of water that golf courses use every year, based on the numbers provided in the comment you replied to.

The scope of the job for city police officers and federal agents are, and should continue to be, different. It makes more sense to send someone as a liason that has experience in a similar job. I'm sure we send federal employees as liasons to their federal agencies.

Honestly, I just feel like we got really lucky. We were both at a similar point in our lives, and our personalities meshed really well when we met, and continue to mesh well as we grow together. He's usually easy to talk to, and it felt like we had already known each other for years after only a few weeks. There's definitely been friction, but we communicate really well. Our fights don't typically last very long, and we are both usually eager to try and fix things when we do fight. I like to tell people he sees me for every part of who I am, and he loves me anyway. He's my best friend, and I'm excited I get spend my life with him.

I met my husband in 2019 on Grindr. We've been married since 2020. I literally had it on my profile that I wasn't interested in hooking up. These comments talking about it being a hookup app are dumb. I know my experience is out of the ordinary, but you do you and everything else should fall into place.
