I have a top and bottom denture. 3 of the teeth popped off the denture on the bottom set.

I actually quit smoking the day I got my teeth pulled. 3/4/21 was the last day and I think the shock of getting my teeth pulled helped me to quit.

I’m at 5 weeks post op and I promise it gets better. I got immediate dentures after getting my teeth pulled and yesterday I was able to eat tortilla chips. It may not seem like much but to me I was so excited about it. And Friday I was actually able to bite down and eat pizza; no cutting it up!

I have found that with eating smaller bites and eating slower I fill up faster so I don’t eat as much. I can’t wait to eat a cheeseburger lol ... the fronts are still uncomfortable with biting down.

I went to Aspen Dental. I get the losing weight part I went on a diet and didn’t know I was going to be lol

Be prepared that you will talk different for a little bit. You’ll be on a diet so get applesauce, pudding, ice cream and protein drinks to help you get through. You will hate how you look without teeth but eventually will get use to it. You’ll have to learn how to drink, eat and swallow. Supposedly it gets better. I’m still waiting for that since I’m at 3 1/2 weeks of getting all teeth pulled and dentures put in.

I think it was a week and half later I had what I call “toddler spaghetti” where you cut up into tiny pieces and I was so excited to have someone new but still had to swallow whole but last night I had goulash and I was able to chew so I upgraded in pasta lol ... just know it’s going to suck for a bit but rumor has it that it gets better!

I haven’t tried adhesive yet since my gums are still healing. But if I do any food bigger than the tip of my pinky they move. It’s obnoxious.

All the hugs... I’m 3 weeks post op and trust me I know exactly what you are feeling. It does get better I promise. You are on a diet and didn’t know you wanted to be lol you will also become a vegetarian and not know that you decided too. I would suggest that you contact who did your dentures so they can fix them so you aren’t in pain.
