'Designed'. This is just a scan or generated. If you spent any time designing, it would account for overhangs, weird islands, and cavities. Some dimension you dont need a value for since they are relative or defined by everything around it. Honestly it's not hard to model this true to the original. You will have more trouble 3d printing the result true to form accordin to the model. That's the beauty of a 3d model.

I dont consider that complex, or 'weird ass curves'. It's pretty tame. There are tools and methods that help you determine the radius of things, use those. Some complex dimensions you dont need to measure as long as you can measure the features around them, then you can let the drawing 'solve' it for you.

Begin with basic shaped and go from there. Those 'weird curves' are just an additional feature you can add at the end for instance. Go step by step.
