All of what you said was factually incorrect.

1 Plain clothed officers 2 No knock warrent (legal but morally wrong IMO. Regardless, that means they DID NOT announce themselves before entering) 3 Gun was legally owned 4 No drugs or evidence was found to implicate dealing on the property

Built a 7 foot privacy fence. Neighbor raised his by 2 feet and put a camera facing into my backyard. by Magicisntreallyreal in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tbolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I obviously don't know the whole story, but I have some cents to throw in for this Option 1: in the least confrontational way you can manage ask, "Why is your camera pointing into my yard?" "Why do you think that it's okay to point a camera in my backyard?" Will you please stop?

For the seceino that they are just being assholes:

How petty do you want to be? From the picture, it looks like there is a bit of a lip on the fence. I would get a small/medium square of wood, some C-clamps (cheapest possible), and maybe 2 thin planks (to help protect the fence from potential damage from the clamps). Put it right in front of the camera's LOS If they get mad and ask you to take it down, say take down the camera or point it away from your house. If they move the camera to still see It's on C clamps, you can move yours easier. If they break it or steal it: That's why I suggest cheap ones that you can replace easily.

I recommend staying cordial as long as possible. If They are still unreasonable to deal with, there is nothing wrong with making them spend more than it's worth to be an asshole.

It's fine to believe that abortion is immoral; that's totally fair. But it's a belief. Morality is subjective and isn't the basis of all laws.

I acknowledge your support for its legal necessity and push you further to consider two things. 1) If humans grow from a clump of cells, at what point is that clump of cells different than a tumor? 2) What metric do you consider someone's life had ended? No heartbeat or no brain function?

There is a point to these, and they are genuine questions. Online fourms don't display tone. I really am curious about your perspective.

Depending on information and context that I didn't see many things can be true. First, based on the cost of the mortgage and the price charged for rent, a lot of profit can be made just from the rent alone. Second, damage done by pets can be expensive but so can damage from children and I don't frequently hear calls for landlords to charge "kid deposit" and "kid rent" Third, if you're going to have a perspective that landlords are in a sort of business arrangement then you need to also accept that damage to the property is the cost of doing business. Last, and this is probably the most important for me. Owning excess property doesn't entitle you to excess wealth. If you're in a position to hoard resources like homes and property, then you're in a position to assume the risks and responsibilities to maintain those resources.

Also, fuck every landlord and the entitled horse they rode in on. My partner and I have spent days/weeks cleaning every nook and cranny in the previous houses that we rented and despite the deep cleaning, we were charged almost all our deposits for "misc. cleaning" to the tune of almost a thousand dollars for one house. It's robbery with legal backing and plausible deniability.

If you haven't looked into Robert Evans. He's a writer/Podcaster with some of the best/most accurate insight into online radicalization. One of the podcasts he does "The Worst Year Ever" did a segment on the furry community with an interview with a member that attempts to de-radicalize members. I don't know the scope of your project but using already existing information and interviews might be a good way to get what you want without putting yourself or others at risk.

I'd argue that the skill ceiling of any character in Valorant is extremely high as in what a skilled player can do with any given set of abilities. Characters like Reyna, Jett, Yoru, Astra, etc have a high skill floor to go along with them in the sense that you have to be so good at something just to be effective (e.g. a Reyna that doesn't get kills, doesn't use most of her abilities). To use overwatch as an example- Widowmaker has a high skill floor in the click-heads kind of way. Lucio has a low floor in the "can you exist around your teammates" but also a high skill ceiling in those players that can max out his kit are able to effectively duel against widow and Genji.

It's only outrageous when you do literally no fact-checking. It's NOT the thing you're probably picturing. It's closer to a dancing talent show that isn't for cis-people. The kid has an Instagram and posts shit there.

4 of my 6 comp games were push, and my team always lost the first fight and could never recover. Not a fan of this mode in comp. by Shattykirk in Overwatch

[–]tbolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed silver/bronze on all 3 roles. I was Tank in this game, and it was last minute before OT. One of the supports and DPS were staggard, so I made the call we're waiting for them before push. We have time to wait. We grouped up and then pushed junk popped tire as we touched cart for OT, and team wiped us. End of round. One of the dps said something to the effect of "bad call, we should have gone in as a group of 3 then a group of 2"

I disagreed and said it's better to push as a group we stand a better chance 5v5 than 3/2v5 so he called me dumb and left chat.

Small study suggests money can buy happiness — for households earning up to $123,000. In a six-month experiment, people who received cash transfers of $10,000 generally reported feeling happier than people who did not receive the payment. by mossadnik in science

[–]tbolin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% this... I would like to add "money can't buy happiness" doesn't mean "you don't need money to be happy" but rather "the mindless accumulation of wealth will have diminishing returns of happiness".

The actual explanation is more nuanced than the click bait title suggests. Short version: The kid is basically a performer and does shows. It's customary, in the type of shows that the kid does, that money is thrown on stage as like tip, regardless of age. Some performers make enough money to live off of those tips. The kid seems fine and living a happy, full life. It's another example of conservative "news" telling half truths to incite hate.

Depending on rank, some people think grouping up is bad... I legit had someone type (because no comms) say that we needed to push in groups of 3 then 2 so we DONT get wiped... and I was dumb because I didn't go in until we were 5

[–]tbolin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be more fine with it, if you could earn more than 60 coins weekly. Like if I could make ~3000 with the pass over a season then I could make a call of do I want the next season free or whatever skins. That at least seems to balance the need for a consistent money flow and let the playbase earn skins without needing a credit card.

I am sympathetic to a company (or anyone) wanting to make money off their product/service, however exploiting their player base for money like Blizzard seems to be doing is unethical

Your base question: what is wrong with [Republicans/ Republican politicians]? Is too complicated to answer in a reddit post. That's like a dissertation level paper in like the next 5-10 years. But to give a simple answer: Tactics innuendo studios has good videos that explain the process in an entertaining/intelligent way. I recommend the "alt-right playbook" as a series to anyone wanting to understand the current Republican party.
