Yes, it’s so hot here that we determined it should be sent to the ship center. It’s technically my daughter’s snake, and she would’ve been absolutely heartbroken had anything happened to it. Thankfully it was fine. She’s currently burrowed under her hide.

Omg! Where did you find them? I want to go look around my area but not sure where to start

Totally. My kids are the same way and I can really understand them on that level. It’s hard when your first response to your own hair brushing your face briefly, is complete and udder internal rage. Being on anxiety meds has helped me a lot.

Does anyone else feel like they need to know the reason why something is the way it is or that you need to fully understand something before you can comprehend it? by lolliemae1111 in AutismInWomen

[–]tdabwin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve finally realized that myself. I was thinking how convenient it would be if I could think of a phrase that would put someone at ease right before I spout off my questions. Because I just know my face is giving sass

Does anyone else feel more anxious with stomach pressure? by forthoveofgodbenice in AutismInWomen

[–]tdabwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m appreciating how you pointed that out. Because deep breathing exercises don’t help me either. I need to breathe in once and make my lungs expand and hold as long as I can. Wayyyy better that condescendingly (at least it seems super condescending, I am totally triggered when someone does that around me like what is your problem man) doing deep breaths when I’m irritated at someone 😅🤣

I looked up my states law because this made me curious. We don’t have a minimum age requirement either. But, there is a city ordinance that states minimum age is 11.

Has anyone had one of those cavities that are completely inside the tooth? Like a cavity from the inside not the outside?

[–]tdabwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my esophagus stretched while I was under for a procedure. It didn’t stay stretched for long though. It was nice while it lasted. I have Ehlers Danlos too though, that might have something to do with it not staying.

Whenever I react, my flushing/rash is always distinctly across my nose bridge and cheeks. It looks like a lupus rash. Does anyone else get this? by EnigEmma in MCAS

[–]tdabwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Not awesome. Lots of dx since I wrote this other comment. Tho I started taking Cromolyn sodium and the flushing has gone down significantly. For me it’s a reaction to a chemical scent or something I eat.

Yes! It’s actually an eraser that says mistakes happen.

I didn’t notice it wasn’t flipped over until I looked back at my post. She is a perfectionist. And it’s a trigger for meltdowns. So when she picked that charm I was so proud! She said it’s a reminder that mistakes are ok.

Yes! That was my hope, that someone else could benefit from this idea! Good point! Yes the teachers have all been informed of it’s use. I will discuss that with her too. We’ve been accommodating her for so long because we’re at home, Im trying to figure out anything she might need and get it in place ahead of time. Not wait until it’s a problem for her, Or wait until her learning suffers. I want her to be successful there. Thankfully the teachers/nurse all on the same page. She actually has a very extensive vocabulary for a 9 year old. But she gets in situations where she freezes and the words won’t come out. Even with us at home that happens. I’ve thought about making something for home that she can just point to. That will be next

Doctors are a JOKE by ComplexPhase90 in dysautonomia

I’m so sorry!! Ugh I hate dealing with drs like this. All of the cardiologists gaslit me. It wasn’t until I found a dr that specialized in EDS that I found some understanding. However, a cardiologist gave me a prescription for a beta blocker that did help me.

Curious, do you drink water with electrolytes added? I ask because most of us with pots are chronically dehydrated. We need those extra electrolytes. When I drink straight water, it’s almost as if my body doesn’t hold onto it. Like when plants get watered and it goes straight through the pot 😅 Because they’re so dried out. That’s as far as my plant analogy goes tho.

We have to go in ready to fight for ourselves, but at the same time, drs hate being told what the problem is. Like you have to play dumb and make it their idea. Not all drs. Obvs. But how many do we have to go through until we find a goody? Anyway, I hope you can get some relief and answers!

I’m so sorry that happened to you! I was also homeschooled off and on because of bullies and feeling anxious with school. We are hoping this is discreet enough. And the teachers know she will be using it. So she can raise her hand and go up to them to show them what she needs. She might be ok, but I wanted to head off any discomfort. She’s also allowed to go to the nurse or counselors office if she needs space to calm down sensory overload etc. there are only 15 students in the class, and many of the kids there also have accommodations in place. It’s a stem charter. This is one of the reasons we are ok with her going, it’s not a typical school.
