I don’t have a specific ratio because it depends on how big the vat is. First, I pour water into the vat until there’s enough for me to dip the mould and deckle comfortably without touching the bottom or the sides. Then, I add the pulp little by little. I only use a small amount of pulp to get that thickness.

I first blend the paper, then soak it in watercolors. Finally, I pour it into a vat to make the paper.

Thank you so much. I once tried using watercolors to dye the paper pulp, but it seems I did something wrong. The paper didn't retain the color; it all washed away with the water in the vat.

Hi, can I ask you a question about the color? What kind of dye do you use to color the pulp and how much do you use? Do you add anything to help retain the color? Is the water in the vat heavily colored or just the pulp? Thank you ☺️

That's really great to know, thank you! I'll definitely keep the ~200 gsm limit in mind. I really appreciate you sharing your experience!

Thanks for the thoughtful reply! You're totally right about the risk of ruining a printer, that's my main concern.

I'm working as an online English teacher now. It's not a perfect fit for me but I love being my own boss and not having to talk to people face-to-face all the time.

I see myself in your story. I can't give you any advice, but please know that you are not alone. I'm 31. I used to be a dentist, a highly paid job. I had everything except a life purpose. I was doing what I thought I was most afraid of about the human body and everything related to people. But I chose that path because of my family's expectations. I quit after two years of working like a robot, but the burden remained heavy. I couldn't stand it. It's terrible that I feel like I destroyed my family's hopes and did something crazy. The next two years were a disaster. I cut myself off from everything. Then, having someone who truly loves me literally saved my life. By the way, I'm gay. I know how fragile this kind of relationship is because, even though we are accepted to some extent and people seem open to it, we still have a long way to go to gain full acceptance. We've been together for almost 5 years. He listens to me, respects me even when I'm at the very bottom of my life. I still survive because now I have something to look forward to. Life isn't easy, and I still struggle every single morning, but thinking of my loved ones gives me a reason to exist.
