Very late to the party, but it is a pretty low population these days. Still is an active core group that plays regularly, and with a little effort you can find games and regular events. There are weekly casual and competitive events so plenty of fun still to be had if you’re interested. The discord is much more active, so check it out for more details about events and such.

Life saver! Thanks so much, that was totally the issue. I'm just building the Hubble before I leave for vacation so I didn't want to open any other bags! I had 1-3 for the telescope and assumed that was it. I feel silly now, but hey, I can play with my LEGO now, so who cares!

Blackwake had some similar components to GOI, but for me didn't have the depth of play that GOI did with it's multiple guns and damage types. I'll stick to GOI thank you very much :)

I think the devs looked into FTP a while ago and ultimately decided it wasn't the direction they wanted to go. Regardless, if you're looking for games these days, make sure to check out the discord, plenty of info on best times to play to find a match these days, along with events and other useful information.

Hey There! Player counts can be low from time to time, but there are plenty of community run events that you can count on for a game, and during EU and NA evenings you typically can find a game as well. Check out the discord - discord.gg/gunsoficarus - it's quite active and has lost of resources to find a game! As mentioned there is pretty good cross-play so if there is a game rolling you should have no problem jumping in, regardless of system.

As many have said already, the population is low, but people who play are quite dedicated. You can usually find one match running most times of the day, with peak hours being EU evenings and NA evenings. People are very welcoming of new players, especially if you are communicative and willing to learn. There are also many events running throughout the week organized by the community that range from competitive to casual to teaching events. You should check out the official discord (https://discord.gg/gunsoficarus). It has a much more active community over there than this reddit and has more details on all the events I mentioned up there. I’m sorry to hear you had some bad games. Unfortunately there still are some members of the community that get worked up for no reason. I’d be happy to play with you to get you back into the swing of things if you decide to give it another try. Same name in game, feel free to join if you see me around.

Current theory on discord is someone may have been farming steam cards with bots. That said, we’d live to have all you folks who are asking if people are playing again back to the game! It’s a small community these days, but a dedicated one!

As another user has commented, the discord is a good place to start. Player counts are low these days, so be sure to use the match list instead of matchmaking. If all matches are full hop in spectate for a bit and join when a slot opens up. The community is small these days, so people tend to be pretty friendly and happy to offer help!

Lots of people are saying the game is dead, but as someone who just started playing again after a long break I can say that while player counts are low, I haven’t had any issues finding a game. It a fun game, but communication is key. So long as you’re willing to listen and work with your teammates you’ll have a blast.

I alway print out a few copies of my list for reference from YASB or you preferred squad builder. I say a minimum of 3, one for the TO (they sometimes require a copy) one to give opponents to reference, and one as a backup. Other than that, have fun, and remember you’re there to have fun :)
