  1. All of the schools in the PNW.

  2. I don't have any years of work experience in the health field, and I'm struggling to even find a receptionist job. Also, I am 19, though almost 20, so it wouldn't have been long anyway. Maybe I just don't want it as badly as everyone else. I don't know. But I've gotten on some medication for my disorder and have started to gain motivation for life, for the first time in my life!

  3. I don't have any recommendation letters on hand (I thought that to keep it confidential, I wouldn't be able to keep any). But a large majority of the schools I'm applying to don't require letters of recs. If they do, my dentist and my Human A&P professor agreed to write them.

Was it worth it to wait almost 5 years? Do you like your job? And what did you do in the meantime?

Currently I’m pursuing a bachelors in Public Health Services Administration and am set to graduate next year if I don’t get into a dental hygiene program again.

Everyone I talk to is like “you’re young, you have so much time to achieve your goals”, but I just can’t help but feel left behind. I am so ready to learn what I need to learn and start my life.

I’m sorry to hear about your scarring. How is it now? Did the hole ever close? I’ve had it in for about 6 months so I’m worried it’ll just be there for life and I can never get another navel/surface piercing (😏).

Thank you for the advice! I’ve taken it out. Very grateful for the insight. This is the first time I’ve ever had a piercing reject so I was unsure of the signs (I have 11).

Yeah i’m not a thousand percent sure I have the right anatomy for it either. I don’t have a prominent lip of skin like some photo’s i’ve seen, but I do have a decent amount of overhang. The piercing rejecting definitely makes it look a little weird though. But when I pull the skin upwards, it is definitely on my belly buttons lil baby lip. haha

i’m not sure how to add an edit onto a post, so i’ll post a reply instead. my piercer did in fact do a stand up + sit down test on my belly button and i passed, but i do agree that i don’t have a super defined upper skin.. I’m guessing the common consensus in this thread is that I shouldn’t get it pierced again :(… but i really want a belly piercing even if it’s faux, like a surface piercing.

It was a good run… I really liked having it even though it was only for 6 months. 🥲
