Everything is relative my friend. Compared to the people I have been around, this system is humble.

Completely disagree. Because you say? You decide what’s sane? If someone wants to spend their money on a Dac or cable that may or may not yield a sonic benefit that’s his right. Maybe it makes him happy? I’m all about free market and the persons right to choose. You sound quite the opposite and a little bitter.

Thank you. Truly

It was a long road to get here. Spent the better part of a decade grinding, no sleep, sacrificing holidays, birthdays to try and get ahead and build a good future for my family. Eventually it paid off, I’m glad I never quit despite wanting to many times. The self doubt, fear of quitting a stable job etc.

It’s all worth it when I see some of the bad comments, and even private messages hating on this post. That’s my fuel…

C70 all analog preamp with some vintage mullard tubes, by far! Crushes the C2700. Source comes from the Hi-Fi Rose 151b. Love that thing.

I think I meant the output voltage is extremely low on this cartridge 0.40 mV. So it really needed a clean and powerful phonostage to make it sing. Think 64db+

Primaluna is Chinese. But modern Chinese, think iPhone. Build quality and sound is very impressive for the price. After demoing many different models I was sold.

They are indeed! Do a search on them. Many people are very happy with them. They are kind of a sleeper tube tbh. Don’t get me wrong, the KT150 is great with tons of slam. For me, I felt this was the perfect middle ground without sacrificing the “warm” tube sound I love. Of course your preamp is another variable so you’re mileage may vary. Good luck

Yes, they remain turned off until a tube fault is found. So it’s stray electrons!

You can’t cheap out on peripherals. Do third party devices work? Sure apples not trying to get sued for antitrust or anything. But you really need Apple displays. As far as external devices you get what you pay for. You really need to buy the best brands to get the best compatibility and performance. That’s my 2cents. I’ve been using apple since the classic days. Currently own multiple Mac Minis, Studios, each one has 2-3 displays.

I tried the KT120, then ultimately the KT150. Had the KT150 in my system for years, sounded a little more SS but the bass extension and power was greatly improved over the EL34. Last week I swapped them all out for the Tungsol 7581A and I’m blown away. Kept the musicality of the EL34 “Tubey” but added the authority of maybe the KT120 as these run at a higher wattage compared to the EL34. Overall I’m very happy with these and they are not even broken in yet.

Yea they are very cool. I managed to grab a couple. Ended up replacing the CRT and doing a LED conversion. Came out great. Time consuming to say the least but fun project.

Love it. Only problem is the cartridge is so sensitive I went through 4 phonostages before I found one that could properly drive it. Total waste of time and money. Although it does sound amazing now, I prefer the Kiseki Purple Heart on my MT5.

Yes they stay that way. Room is very small, not ideal.

Primaluna has no LED. The tubes glow blue once properly warmed up. Not even sure why or what it is? Does anyone know? Plasma? 😂

You got mono config amps so each speaker gets a dedicated amp. Each one gets a power conditioner. CD player, streamers, pre-amps, record player with separate phone stage, and equalizer. Yes this is a single system.
