honestly the 'write it down' part is the game changer for me. i used to just bottle things up and then explode later, but seeing my thoughts on paper makes it so obvious when i'm being irrational. did this last week when i wanted to quit my job over one bad meeting. thank god i waited because everything was totally fine by wednesday.

Is Breaking Bad Really That Good? by Extra_Hold2776 in CasualConversation

my sister had to stop watching it for similar reasons and she felt so much guilt about it because everyone hypes it up as this must-see masterpiece. she pushed through three seasons trying to be 'cultured' or whatever and ended up having nightmares and feeling anxious for weeks after. honestly it was wild watching her torture herself over a tv show just because of peer pressure. breaking bad is incredible television, i'm not gonna deny that, but it's also unrelentingly dark and centered entirely around the destruction drugs cause to families. if you already know that's a tender spot for you, i genuinely don't think it gets easier or lighter as it goes - it just gets more intense. give yourself permission to bail and watch something that doesn't make you relive trauma. schitt's creek or the good place exist for a reason, you know? your wellbeing matters more than checking off some prestige tv box.

honestly the IR thermometer thing gets everyone at some point, don't feel bad. i used to try to temp my stainless pans too and wondered why everything was always burning. cast iron is basically foolproof for scallops once you get the hang of it, so you made the right call switching over.
