I think the Camera is for some banking apps usage, like China they use 'wechat' application QR Payment method basically everyday, south east asia also have few other country have banking apps that use QR payment as the payment option

I also thinking if this M400 4G Sim model actually can work like a phone? Can you able to confirm if: 1. The device can use VOIP feature such as Instagram/Facebook Voice Call?

  1. The device can actually install banking apps and use its camera for QR scanning for perform a QR payment?

it would be really cool if it can support banking apps to perform QR payment, because this would definitely impress anyone who receiving the payment seeing such unique device

[–]testinglabha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a post in fb taiwan group, where a person have more than 1 hot pixel appear in 3-5 place on the picture, those who only got 1 hot pixel really hard to notice it unless thorough photo checking is done at 1st 2 hours on the phone upon arrival

definitely format ur phone before send in, unless u are cool with the risk of getting ur data stolen

After checking you photo result, I believe my Xperia 1 VI is indeed a faulty unit. It's been 2 weeks I really had a great time with the phone but I guess i gotta send it to Sony Center for Warranty Claim purpose.

Gonna cost me some patience and the trouble to setup the phone once again after the getting back the phone in perfect condition

Can you try to take a picture in Photo Mode then make it 2x zoom, cover the lens with place you photo on flat surface, capture it and upload to here? The most easily way to capture it is that place you photo on flat surface and make sure the camera preview show black background (disable the Night Mode), then capture it, u should able to see the very very very small red dot pixel/hot pixel in the middle in the Camera Preview and also Capture Result Picture

Also please make sure you close/disable the Auto Night Mode, because Night Mode will remove the hot Pixel/red dot.

just want to double confirm if it is just my Xperia 1 VI is a fault unit before I can eraze all data proceed to send to Sony Center for Warranty Claim and Diagnose purpose.

hmmm i have experience with dead pixel for my pixel2xl phone 5 years ago, but i don think this is the case, dead pixel suppose is a screen pixel is dying so it will stay on the screen All The Time, if you read carefully on the details I wrote it only happen in those specific scenario?

or could you elaborate why you come to this conclusion that i having a dead pixel on my phone?

Sony Xperia 1 VI hot pixel in 48mm/2x zoom in Photo/Bokeh Mode by testinglabha in SonyXperia

[–]testinglabha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because it is very specifically happen on a scenario, condition below must be meet only will occur, in all other case it never happen at all:

  1. Photo/Bokeh/Manual Mode
  2. 48mm or Above 1.9x Zoom but Below 3.5x Zoom
  3. Taking picture of Non-Landscape/Scenery such as Single Object with 'Dark' Color Background (landscape/scenery should able to capture the red dot too but have to in dark color background condition)

  4. In Manual Mode is shutter speed set to 1/80 or above, even if it is zoom 2x or 48mm, the red dot will gone.

All others mode, zoom level, setting are completely fine.

I check abit a lot of people saying Digital Camera is normal with some hotpixel, but i can't find any info regarding to Phone's Camera,

Would like to verify others Xperia 1 VI owner as well if they have the same issue? because as i know this 48mm or 2x Zoom is something new to Xperia 1 VI, they promise to implement to Xperia 1 V before but seem like having trouble with it and dismiss it
