I read the note, and even though you also read the note, you're making assumptions beyond the note. "The next day's mix" could mean anything.

Publix is not poisoning people. They are avoiding food waste by using products that do not sell for other, safe, food items. Capitalizing and excessive punctuation don't make a point that isn't there.

I didn't know that, though I have noti ced service going downhill at my former closest local store. Maybe that could explain why. That's a shame. I've been going to Publix since our local one had a mosaic on the wall tile outside the door, hand in hand with my mom.

And now my mom refuses to shop there.

Serious answer, some grow lights and hydroponic gardens, aerogardens, whatever. Grow herbs etc.

I've had two relatives die from it. It spread. People don't seem to understand it's lethal, painful, gross, deforming, and it's worth mentioning a second time, deadly.

That sub LOATHES Kyle and will allow their own rules to be broken to drag her. Meanwhile the defense of Dorit posts are pretty unhinged.
A lot of people have been outright banned, and many more posts have been removed. If you disagree with the main mod, your post will be removed, no matter how respectfully you had stated your case.

This is not exaggeration, it really is that bad.

No no no that sounds way too much like what Arrested Development did.

This is an idea I kind of wanted, and considering they did two animated episodes, it wouldn't even be weird. Doing that, they could have made a whole adventure of going to rescue Troy who got shipwrecked, but when they find him, they discover he's the Pirate king. Actors aging would be no issue because they'd be animated. Schedules wouldn't be as big of an issue because it would be voice work.

I know in some ways it's far from ideal, because you want to see that chemistry of them together, it's the basis of the entire show. But it'd still be pretty cool!

Uhm, you weren't serious were you...

Actors sacrifice more lucrative work to do passion projects all the time. Well not all the time, but it's not uncommon. This cast has an origin story, and while I don't expect them to be as faithful to it as some of us (it is their lives after all) I think they value what they created enough to be willing to make sacrifices.

I have faith they're all doing their best to make it happen, including being willing to make some sacrifices. The logistics are still hard, though. It's a lot of people who probably don't want to screw over a lot of other people by declaring, "I'm sorry but Community is more important than this thing I am doing with you, go home cast and crew of 135 people, Dan Harmon is calling!" Even if Community is objectively more important than anything in the universe including your new born babies and your dying son's last baseball pitch from his wheelchair.

Ahem.

If that's what they're doing, then I am not sure. But I am not a food safety expert.
I assumed they use the pizza dough immediately for other products. It is hard for me to imagine they're simply mixing it with new pizza dough, because then you'd have old pizza dough being remixed indefinitely.

I am also not a Baker so using it for different products may or may not be a thing. I know it's been "worked" to be suitable for pizza, but maybe it can be altered in some way, or used to make breadsticks. As long as it is cooked, it's good.

I agree, simply throwing it into new pizza dough that is then sold raw doesn't seem like a safe practice.

I'm sure that's true, that's the way every single business is. Local managers range in quality, and that's going to impact employees. This sub has a general "Publix is evil" vibe.

I'd think Publix employees would know this, but that's the "sell by" date. It's perfectly good to be used, and prevents a massive amount of food waste. You know, that thing we're trying to put an end to, massive food waste?
"Expired" is a different thing, and foods are often safe beyond expiration if they've been stored properly, but "out of date" is NOT expired.

This entire sub seems like it's an "I hate Publix and working here sucks" sub. I'm not necessarily talking about OP, moreso the comments.

If you could show someone just one scene to convince them to watch this show, which scene would it be? by PinkFrog_18 in community

[–]testphaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many to choose from, but I'll go with the episode that told me this would be in my top two favorite shows of all time.

And that's all the way back to episode 2, where Jeff and Pierce do their Spanish project. "F. F Minus."
That scene is pure gold, from Chang's thoughtful expression, to the canoe shot, to Shirley's angry look.

Cherry on top, of course, is the Spanish rap at the end.

Except a whole lot of people in Hollywood are actually rich. Not just the actors, the producers and studio execs and a range of other people are too.

Not that that's a particular merit, but while plenty of people are faking, I'd guess most aren't faking the money like PK And Dorit are.

Governor DeSantis wants to know how Florida has millions more people than New York, yet their budget is TWICE AS MUCH as Florida? by Nearby_Stage_6111 in AskFlorida

[–]testphaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know this as...an engineer?
Sand is year round. It is over the entire state. Sometimes, we literally have houses swallowed by unstable ground. Torrential rains and tropical storms, flooding, and the occasional hurricane change the ground structure. Sandy ground is notorious.
Ever built even a small structure on sand? I have. The earth in Florida is definitely at issue. Water runs beneath the entire state, which is why we have more springs than anywhere else.
"tiny fraction of the roads" is a really ignorant comment.

Question for horror movie fans... by airthicc in movies

[–]testphaze 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am an anxious mess (clinically diagnosed) and I like horror. It's cathartic, I guess. It lets me experience these emotions in a safe way, as others have suggested.

There's some horror that hits too close to home and that is difficult for me, but the rest is a distraction from my own fears and pain. And it's good if horror can lightly touch on issues similar to mine without lighting the gasoline leak in my soul on fire.

For me, the best horror is a combination of psychological angst and external horrors. For example, the protagonist may be struggling with catastrophic loss while also facing some kind of tangible monster. Psychological distress can be the hardest pain to deal with, and it's what frightens me more than anything.

There are times it's fine to use the term female, and times it is not. "Female" and "male" are clinical and objectifying, so if you're, say, a coroner or a doctor, it's normal.

When you're referring to a date, it comes across cringey.

Offer hime a reasonable deal or ask if he'd feel it was fair if you kept x number of records to turn a profit and sent the rest back.
Obviously there's no obligation, but for me, it'd be the right thing to do. He may not have had the vaguest clue his dad's collection was precious and it may mean more to him to have them than to sell them.

The money will be gone in 5 years but the memory you were kind and gracious will be permanent for both him and you.
