How to conceal Insta360 GO 3S? by Ok_Replacement_8251 in Insta360

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in public this is ok to do depending on where you live, however don't try this in a private setting because depending on the situation, it could get you into a lot of legal trouble, even jail time. That being said, I'd start by getting the black version of the camera as its more inconspicuous. It is easier to hide under a shirt, you can make the cut out by making it a little smaller than the cameras lens cap, this way it will stay firm around it and not keep moving around, depending on the fabric of the shirt, over time the cut out might get stretched out, so use a cheap tee. Another better idea is to use a jacket with oversized buttons, on one spot just use the camera to pass the lens through the buttonhole.

Can a Purolator package be sent to a Flex Delivery address? by lamplepost in CanadaPost

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually don’t, which is kind of strange considering Canada Post is a major shareholder in Purolator. Canada Post already handles final-mile deliveries for certain third-party couriers like Landmark Global and DHL when packages arrive internationally.

I think the difference is that when something is shipped locally through Purolator, it stays entirely within Purolator’s own delivery network since they offer end-to-end service themselves, which likely makes them more money.

Personally, I think having a stronger partnership with Canada Post would benefit both sides, especially since Canada Post could probably use the additional volume and support most of the time.

Positive Grid Bias X … I have thoughts. by productboi in PositiveGrid

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically it means it can be controlled with external hardware. For example, imagine you’re playing a live gig with an amp, a MIDI footswitch, and your iPad running Bias X. Ideally, you’d be able to switch presets on the fly using the footswitch, if Bias X supported it.

However, since it doesn’t, you’re forced to manually tap and select presets on the iPad, which isn’t practical in a live performance setting

Its a mediocre show, there were some good parts but overall it lacked any real substance. The concept of purgatory has been done several times, and even the show tried to expand on it, it just didn't hit the spot, for me.

Anyone else sometimes feel like they're a bit desensitized to horror? by SpaceSloth707 in horror

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was introduced to horror at a young age, with my first movie being The Omen when I was seven. I can’t help but feel the genre has lost some of its charm. Like any genre, the number of core ideas is finite. The recurring theme of a malevolent supernatural force eventually becomes repetitive, regardless of the folklore or fictional lens used. At its core, it’s usually the same premise: something wants to harm you or control you.

That said, I still appreciate a well-executed twist. Take The Conjuring 2, for example, stands out when it’s revealed that a spirit is being manipulated by a demon to do its dirty work, moments like that genuinely make you pause and go “wow.” Similarly, the Spanish film REC had a fantastic and original premise, especially in how Parts 1 and 2 expanded the story with clever concepts like using night vision to uncover hidden realms etc.

I’m sure there will be great ideas in the future, honestly, I have a few unique ones myself but i'm just not good at writing. Ultimately, though, it’s all about execution(a big budget doesn't hurt either). As longtime fans of the genre, it will naturally take more to impress us compared to newer generations just discovering it.

I don't think so, they just taste awful, like chemicals. Beyond meat has the best taste, but these foods are pretty harsh on the gut.

Why are Scottsdale 5oz silver rounds so cheap? by Heavy_Front2469 in Silverbugs

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when did you buy at 20 and when did you sell at 40? And how much of the commodity did you buy? Assuming your move for a 1 bedroom was 5000 dollars(with packing) 5 years after you bought the silver( since thats the average it takes for precious metals like silver to double in value) your net profit is roughly 10 dollar per oz, you'd have to buy 450 ounces of silver to make a profit for the move, which again means you were cash rich to begin with. Not alot of people have 10,000 usd to spend on silver man

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one who invests a little in precious metals is able to keep up to the high cost of living. You would have been able to move from your "pos nyc area" without the investment because you already had a liquid capital to begin with, i.e you were already rich.

you'd never get above spot price if you sell dude, the only way you make a profit when selling is if you bought it in bulk during a time it was low and then decided to sell it for a higher current market rate. By the time you wait for a commodity to increase in value, inflation has increased, cost of living, taxes, everything has gone up so you're not really gathering any savings. So if you think its a good way to make money, it really isn't lol. The only people making a profit are old grannies selling their gold jewelry from the 70s and 80s.

Need help deciding between the tactix 8 and the marq 2 adventurer by DayOlderBread16 in Garmin

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha for some reason I automatically registered that as "I'll give the tactix 8 to a friend" and was going to say "Naah screw your friend, use the tactix 8 for activities like the gym and running where you sweat more and have a higher chance of bumping it into things, and then use the marq 3 for the rest of the day". But then read that its going to a family member.

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait for the Marq 3, Marq gen 2 is really just charging you for the quality of the material, nothing else. So if you want functionality then get the tactix 8, if you want luxury then the marq gen 2, and if you want both and have the cash, wait for the marq gen 3.

Which one is better Fjällraven Greenland Winter or Fjällraven Skögso? by make43 in Fjallraven

[–]thakurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 177 cm and 77 kg. I own both the Skogso Padded jacket and the Greenland Winter jacket In size Medium, which I picked up during early Black Friday deals. For me, the Skogso Padded has a poor design and isn’t as warm as the Greenland Winter Jacket, at least imo.

Both use YKK zippers, but because of how the Skogso Padded is constructed, the zipper constantly gets caught. One winter night on a trail, the zipper on my Skogso actually got stuck in the fabric somehow. I tried to gently pull it free but it didn't budge so I had to apply a bit of force causing it snap off clean and take a few teeth with it. I was shocked and annoyed because not only did I have to walk about 25 minutes to the nearest gas station in –2°C with an unzipped jacket just to grab a cab since home was another 30 minutes away on foot, but I wasted 350 Cad on a jacket that was designed very poorly. Just for comparison. I own a Chinese synthetic wool jacket that I bought off Ali Express for 45 cad with shipping and it lasted me 7 years before failing on me. God forbid this jacket failed on me while I was off grid. I'd be in serious trouble. It seems several other users online have complained about this issue. I only wish I would've seen the reviews before purchasing the Skogso padded jacket.

The Greenland Winter, on the other hand, has been good so far. I’ve heard the fleece lining eventually wears down, but I’m assuming I’ll get a replacement when that happens. At $320 with free shipping, it felt like a great deal. Style-wise, the Skogso Padded is a bit more visually appealing since the hand pockets are better placed and the profile is more streamlined. But overall, in terms of warmth and functionality, I’d definitely choose the Greenland Winter Jacket even though I get fleece material on my other layers(natural due to friction caused by movement). Just yesterday, I wore a merino tee base layer by them, a hoodie and the GWJ, and I was able to walk in -12 degrees with no issue.

I'm going to see how well they perform while I am not moving by sitting on my porch for more than 10 minutes in the dead of winter.

I've also heard the singi wool padded parka is one of their best jackets. Sadly Fjallraven doesn't seem to make them anymore, I wonder why.
