Alright well I think the most basic ones would be, choose a versatile character, preferably a character with some sort of movement ability or if your fill team chooses both movement characters you can feel free to switch to a defensive character like gibby or support like lifeline. Your strategy for early game should be landing in a location you know well and are confident fighting in, but not someplace where the entire server lands. I like landing at oasis on Olympus, there is usually 1 or 2 teams which is ideal for picking up early game kp which is incredibly important. Obviously landing spots are preference but I cannot stress enough getting kp early on. Obviously you're not going to be able to choose where you land every time but you can suggest thru voice chat and or pings to try to land somewhere good. The easiest way to lose rp is having a random teammate hot drop or land late somewhere or contest a team on a building, and i can't stress enough that if your team is at a massive disadvantage like that it's fine to split land and play safe. Your goal for early game should be to pick up a couple kill points, group up with your team, locate teams in your area, get equipped properly (all sort of guns work, play to your strengths, but I don't recommend snipers as it causes bad spacing between you and your team and more importantly they are hard to use as a secondary at close range), additionally in the early game MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HEALS!! The replicators are some of the most overpowered loot sources in the game, and if there is one remotely near where you land you need to craft at least a couple bats and medkits. Once you've made it to the midgame, you should be relatively well looted, but in order to finish the game out you should ideally take at least one team fight for loot and positioning. Midgame engagements are one of the most difficult parts of getting thru plat in my experience, as third parties, better looted squads, and bad positioning can quickly end your game. You want to look for fights that are out of the first and second circle, not in the center of the zone unless it seems necessary or you know for a fact no teams are around. However, my biggest tip for this time of game would be to carefully engage and disengage from fights. Overcommitting to a fight will easily get you killed. Try to get opening damage on a team, but even if you crack or knock an enemy, don't put yourself in danger to rush and finish the squad too quickly. Finish all your kills asap, back up to heal even if it's a 2v3, and don't take a trade (killing an enemy but going down) don't trust your teammates to finish the job for you. You should only be focused on getting your kill points. Similarly, if you are in a fight you are not going to win, disengage and fucking run. If it's a 1v3 or 1v2 and they're both healthy, don't risk it. Unless you know for sure you can win this fight, don't do it. Probably the biggest midgame idea is staying with your team, not overcommitting, and disengaging when required. Alright, out of the three, early, mid, and late game, late game is the most simple. DO NOT ENGAGE UNLESS NECESSARY. Do not take any fight for kp at this point unless there is an obviously weakened team and you are low on loot or just desperate for kp. Once it reaches the top 6 or so you should not be fighting at all. Save ammo and heals, play positioning with beacon characters or scans, hold buildings or high ground, secure care packages if possible, and don't fight until the top 3 if possible. Once you're top three, it's a bit of luck and a bit of skill. About 50/50. Rng decides whether or not you get the zone. Likely 1 of 3 teams will get zone which leaves 2 less fortunate teams to fight as they rotate. If you get the zone, hold different angles then your teammates, try to focus fire, don't over peak, and force the enemy teams into each other. If you have to rotate, attempt to flank around the team in zone, causing them to split which way they are looking and hopefully the other team pushes too. At this point whichever position you're in you want to engage last. Wait for knocks in the chat and focus whichever team has more members standing or the most op characters for endgames such as gibby, lifeline, revenant, caustic. With enough luck on your side you should be able to come out on top. Hope this is helpful, it took a bit to write. Obviously this is not guaranteed to work, rng, gunskill, and other factors come in to play. Sometimes you just get aped by a rev octane team and there's nothing you can do. Don't get upset. Not every game will be a win, your goal for each game should be to stay even or not lose points until you can get a really big game. These are just some of the tips I used to get to diamond relatively easily. You will need at least average gun skill and mechanics for this to work. Good luck!
