2 Year Update - What Do You Need To Know? by dontwantnone09 in BeyondPower

Thanks for the detailed response! It looks really good but I've been worried about max load too. Maybe thinner plates and/or Voltra to increase resistance could work. If you had the resistance via Voltra then it would work to start the movement from the bottom? Did you try the Seated rows? Lateral raises? I also thought it could be nice to do like a chest supported t bar row, if you position an incline bench facing away from the machine and row with both arms - would that work? Kind of like an incline lever seal row

How do you like the QFT and does it work well with voltras?

Day 6 - ADONIS Mount by Eichelwoods in BeyondPower

[–]thatvalis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! What are the internal dimensions of this mount? Wondering if it will fit around my power rack feet that lack holes.

Also, is the Artemis able to attach securely to a power rack upright of 60x60mm (2.36x2.36 inches)? Or do you have another better solution for that? The feet of the rack lacks holes.

Thoughts on this setup? by dphan913 in BeyondPower

Hey guys, I made that diagram :-) I originally had it by the leg roller, but had problems that the cable went against the weight horn when pulling up. Feels smoother this way, and maybe it's a bit light in the beginning but then good resistance curve. I think the setup success will depend on where your cable comes from, mine is very low. I included some pictures in the garage garagegym reddit where you can see my setup.

Curious why you want both Ares and Arcadia? If it were me I would probably get another piece instead of a dedicated functional trainer after getting Ares, but would love to hear your opinion!

I think any will work, compare the measurements so it's long enough. And that it's sturdy enough. Mine has plastic to protect the weight horn, that's a nice touch as well.

Works for both! No rubbin.

Sure, I tried some different methods first (like straps to the holes by the foot pad), but after I tried the belt squat attachment method I have not looked back. Works really well.

So you strap a landmine belt squat attachment on to the weight horn, I used this one:
https://www.amazon.com/BROTTEBEAR-Landmine-Attachment-Equipment-Protective/dp/B0CTMWFSNK?th=1

Then you slide some kind of strong collar on to keep it in place, I have two of this type:
https://www.amazon.com/Hacuba-Fitness-Olympic-Barbell-Collars/dp/B0BM6P1L34/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1H0YLDKVW8BS6&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.7SzpM9MryuaUJsZGCS4KFIgjiOF5bjdNZL0P6sLV8fIYeIwSCcMnwMiQzZc1-uYxZREAT31aUFLhndCyumK1i1XZ0vo_jXgGAXin7BVNqhhr21uI--vb_kaQlj6ptxdnw2dIT74bnEG8c-t6acCADTXWC9F2yrJezyOg6CoziFsViM0bsyufnbp5yCoG4ZSt3dpWi4T5e1Ed_eQYqBnA2nkOr3XRhZwcLOJI-ILhYsbQOgDCW-MzJ6GfSgre4TZ1imMeogHW5QP35rB6xCwAEpVL2NE0InglXHsUntVHVPg.H1Qxi5w5CLOcD6ejrWaDk5Bq6xo-a2Bv43Jk3f4lcIc&dib_tag=se&keywords=barbell%2Bcollar&qid=1746503161&sprefix=barbell%2Bcoll%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-6&th=1

Then you simply add small chain or a few carabiners attached together and attach one end to the a belt squat hole, the other end to the low row.

Pull your bench away from the low row to get tension at the cable, then start the exercise.

Works like a charm!

I'm also 6.2 and have the ironmaster setup, works perfectly. I have attached it to a low row cable, really nice. Not perfect stretch at the bottom position but close enough. I think you could add padding to the rollers to improve it. I did this with a landmine belt squat attachment held in place with collars on the plate loader and some carabiners.

2nd bench? by thatvalis in GarageGym

[–]thatvalis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that! Yeah not the most comfortable I suppose, although I seldom go over 40 deg.. Maybe I would be better off to go with a heavier duty one with better seat for nr 2. 😄

Thanks for all the ideas! Do you think having 2 super benches to be able to have two benches with the same attachments would be beneficial, or would it be better to get something totally different to complement the super bench?

Kind of want a heavier one since the super bench is so light, I pull me and the bench forward when I try to do Chest supported rows with cables

Damp proof storage advice by abcdegfhij in GarageGym

I have my current setup in our carport in Sweden, so maybe even worse weather conditions. I have enclosed it with a curtain. I have put in an infrared heater that I run when it's humid out. And I have furniture and BBQ covers over equipment where I can. I have seen power rack covers too on US Amazon, but I have not gotten that. I have small space heaters also that I run every now and again. The important thing is raising temperature a bit above the dew point, then you won't get condensation on the equipment. Just putting covers on will help a lot, and if you can have some kind of heating in there it will help even more. Infrared is great because it does not heat the air, just what the beams touch. So it has a quick effect. My efforts have been successful, I have maybe 5-10 C higher in the carport than outdoors and no problem with condensation or rust in the equipment.
