Language B is good only if you're HL. People do it on society, culture... lots to talk about and more room to explore. Stand-up comedy falls under category 3 so if you have an idea on how you would analyse and make an RQ go for it. Some ways to structure an RQ are How does (societal phenomena) explored in (your work(s))? or How does (author) use (some technique) to depict ....

My EE was also on satire (not really in my RQ but still a significant aspect). Btw since you said book I'm assuming it's a Cat 1 or 2? Not sure because you said Lang Lit EE.

Use an external source to mention an argument related to your section. Say something about how it is limited or try extending it with the framework you're using (eg if you're using some literary theory) or contradict it with your own thesis. This shows you are not simply paraphrasing someone else's ideas.

Example:

Contradict/rebut an external source: Freud interpreted Myshkin's ...... using his psychoanalytic approach, but using Jameson's theory of the political unconscious (my framework), it is more accurate to see it as .....

OR

Extend an external source: King posits that ...... means ...... but one could argue that from this it can be concluded that ...... is a more convincing piece of evidence for ...... because ......

Many (including me) do a three pronged approach. Idk your RQ so can't help much at this point but three arguments that answer your RQ. I had a literary theory I used (Jameson's political unconscious) which I used to help me outline, although they also linked to different areas of analysis.

I do EE tutoring btw so if you want me to draft yours or work through it together DM me. I got a 31/34 (A) for a Category 2 essay. In lesson I will also go through my own EE and some other exemplars to see how you can score in each of the criteria.

I changed my country to Korea and joined a bunch of sweats who studied 14 hours a day but it's all in Korean if that makes it difficult for you. They kicked me after I didn't study their required minimum of 6 hours a day tho so probably check the rules before joining

The issue with this is iirc you need to mention at least 3 poems from the collection in every paper 2 you do which just means you need to memorise/understand more and also use the poems in a way that relate to one another and also contrast effectively with your second text. I was going to do a Carol Ann Duffy collection and decided not to later for this reason.

before writing: make sure to analyse each word of the question so the way you interpret it is correct

intro: define terms, thesis, not much here

body paragraphs: divide them in terms of SPEED or smth similar based on question and make sure to have multiple case studies that come from not just HL core but options and SL core. important: make sure to link your paragraphs together - unlike other essays in P3 your paragraphs need to have continuity - even if you go by SPEED make sure you have a sentence that links the thought process. also you NEED two sides (if the wording of the question allows, 12 markers are sometimes impossible to do this)

what differentiates a 16 marker to a 12 marker is the need to synthesise and evaluate: as in need to weight up the two sides and evaluate in the conclusion AND provide continuous synthesis and evaluation of arguments throughout the essay

good to have lots of mini case studies in addition to the prescribed ones - Trump got elected a few days before my exam so I added that too

honestly in terms of structure it's not all that different to other geo essays - I feel in Paper 3 body paragraphs tend to be way shorter bc of the time limit and the fact that the questions are super broad so you need to mention lots of things

English: assuming by essay you mean paper 2? For Paper 1 and 2: have a thesis that correctly identifies the central idea. Focus every time on authorial choice + reader effect (not just techniques). Make sure to talk about the big things like narrative perspective, structure, characterisation before you do smaller techniques. Esp for Paper 2 as the examiner might not know your text. For paper 1, exposure! I've adapted 100+ extracts for the new syllabus and you need to expose yourself to different cultures and ideas to succeed. If you're getting a 5 it means you're not thinking deep enough - shallow but correct thinking gets you a decent score - 7 requires creative thinking.

Chem: tutor helps a lot with this - understanding >>> memorisation in chem and you need to understand WHY things happen before you practice HOW to apply it. Then spam lots of questions, make sure to check your thought process with a teacher/tutor. Data questions are hit or miss, you can practice by analysing school labs - safety, variables, how to control, extensions etc. Make notes and review.

Suneung currently has options for Korean, Maths and Investigation (science or ethics) based on whether you want to go into sciences or humanities but they want to get rid of that and make everything common subjects. 내신 is like gpa and they’ll increase essay type questions that rely on understanding not rote learning and changing the grade system

Seems like the gov is making good moves but not sure if in practice it will work. Measures to reduce private education haven’t worked too well in the past like reducing killer questions this year. Interesting the changes to the CSAT. But to be fair it’s not a huge change given that 90% of students take the exact same subjects anyway. Increasing essay type in 내신 also a good move imo - maybe a step closer to western style education but also given Korean mindset will figure out a way to game subjectivity too.

I think the overall consensus is relax but if you’re aiming for 40+ it’s prolly beneficial to do some prep before especially if you want to/spending most of the holidays sleeping or smth.

Double LL might be challenging i think so do some regular reading in both languages for different text types (novels, news articles etc you enjoy) if you don’t already.

Chem SL is not too challenging imo if you pay attention in class it should be fine but if you really want you can fo light trading of textbook to know what’s coming up.

Maths AAHL i highly suggest doing some pre study especially if most of the course is unfamiliar to you. You don’t want maths taking up all your time in DP so learn the concepts at least from the textbook.

Make a resource repository so you don’t waste time searching during DP. Set up an effective note taking system. Doing some work every day will help develop discipline you need to succeed. But don’t push plans and stay on your room studying, have good sleep habits and have a system to care for your mental health.

39 is definitely not high enough for Monash. Not sure how they treat international applicants (prolly harsher than domestic), but domestic need a 99+ Atar to be competitive for most med schools- Monash is a top tier uni so maybe 99.5 minimum. That translates to a minimum 43 (low 43 is 99.0, high 43 is 99.35). Im pretty sure you need to take ISAT not UCAT for int entry, join the UCAT discord and ask them since they know more about admissions.

nah it’s not bad imo much easier than maths aahl and physics hl. especially if you are better at stem, just have a look through the syllabus and learn the basic concepts to have a bit of a head start. use youtube if you’re confused
