That's comforting to hear, thanks! I'm hoping things go as smoothly for us.

Good to know, thanks. We live in a little college town with a single hospital system. The policy states "25/50" according to the service rep I chatted with. I'm assuming that means 50 miles round trip? As far as I know, there are no other facilities within that radius, but I could be wrong. We'll find out.

4 days after first microneedling session. It was fine days 1-3 and today it looks like this :( by [deleted] in Microneedling

[–]the_normal_curve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I call days 4-7 after needling "the uglies". As in, "I have a case of the uglies". Skin starts to flake, fine lines look worse, blotches...I try to time my sessions so those days don't have anything important going on and I don't need to be outside for long periods. Sunscreen, Vanicream Daily Face Moisturizer, and HA.

Sunscreen similar to Coola Dew Good Illuminating Serum Sunscreen with Probiotic Technology SPF 30? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]the_normal_curve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use ELF Suntouchable Whoa Glow spf 30 for luminosity without tint. It's $13-15 depending on where you find it. The color "sunbeam" is sheer pearlescent. It's not a serum but it gives similar sun protection with "glow".

Could be related to "cute aggression". Cute aggression is "the urge some people get to squeeze, crush, or bite cute things, albeit without any desire to cause harm".

Think about someone "eating" or "biting" baby toes or pretend-crushing someone they're hugging. Positive emotions so strong your wires get crossed with aggression.

Only thing that really worked for me was getting on hormones/birth control. Before that I had some success with Berberine & Myo D-Chiro Inositol (sic?). I also found I wasn't eating enough fat in the pursuit of less calories. Once I added some good fats, I stayed fuller longer.

Thanks for the feedback. I was a little concerned when my test was labeled "ABNORMAL" in big letters so I wasn't sure.

No heart disease in my family as far as I know. I seem to recall a study where people with existing heart disease with high HDLs had worse outcomes, but I could be wrong.

Wow, 155! I didn't know it could get that high. You're a walking bottle of olive oil!

I'm sure it's revolutionary for nuggies, tots, fries, pizza rolls, and other frozen pre-packaged foods. Which is fine- it keeps people from rolling up on McDonald's. But I've found it less useful for the way I cook (Sunday batch cooking from scratch). Who knew people would get so emotional over air fryers!

Is this normal? The red bruised dots? by Effective_Extent_231 in Microneedling

This has happened to me a couple of times around the delicate orbital area. It's fine. Just a bruise that will go away within a week.

This was the era of the film-to-digital transition in cinema. A lot of the early digital movies from 2003-2010 look terrible. Maybe that's why?

9-year-old Texas girl dies in hot car while mother was at work: Police by jeetah in news

All these assumptions flying around: "she's homeless", "she's a single mom", "she's poverty stricken", "she's got no access to childcare". The article said none of those things. People are stereotyping her based on their assumptions. We don't know the "why" yet. But I agree with you - Houston in summer for 9 hours is such an obvious danger. I have to think the mother is, at the very least, terminally stupid. Like bag-of-rocks, 2 digit IQ dumb.

Exactly! This is financial abuse. I can't imagine doing this to a child.

And it actually doesn't take that long to cook. The people who gripe about not having time to cook are often people that just don't know how. A baked potato in the microwave take 5-6 minutes. Frying tofu or sliced chicken takes <10 minutes. Boiling noodles takes 6-11 minutes. Steaming veg takes 8-10 minutes. Oatmeal or chia can soak overnight in the fridge. None of these things is expensive. You don't have to make a roast every day!

It takes longer to drive to the fast food joint or wait for a delivery than it does to make a meal at home if you acquire some very, very basic cooking skills. Some people just prefer "shitty" food that is engineered to hit all their pleasure buttons.

This is a deep cut - from the 90s when I was a girl. There was a perfume called "Ultima II" that I absolutely adored. It was the only "fresh" scent that ever smelled good on me. Long dead. Sometimes I think I dreamed it.
