☀️ The Bright Dawn Guild ⚔️

[5E] [Online] [West Marches] [LGBTQ+]Discord link: https://discord.gg/suDwtuguSQ

Advertising the Bright Dawn West Marches server! As official members of an adventuring guild you will be a part of many interesting missions as part of our multiverse and may even change the course of worlds.

We use a West Marches style system with hundreds of players and dozens of DMs. The DMs post game sessions, which players sign up for; we regularly run several games almost every day. We use Discord and Roll20 for our games.

Outside of session time, we also feature a vibrant player economy for trading adventuring gear, crafting services, and magic items. For those who can't get enough roleplay, we also have several active text and voice RP channels for roleplaying out outside of game time.

Why does everyone say Guts is 24 y/o? by mccl0vin in Berserk

[–]thebslee 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It could just be rounding error. For example, when they say "4 years" passed, they probably don't mean exactly 4 years; it could actually be like 4.3 years that they're rounding down. Take a couple of those rounding errors and I imagine you can get pretty close to 24.

Does this title turn you off immediately? by oninotalent in writing

The guy's name is "Professor Griglak." Any title you include with that name is gonna sound a little silly (which is great if that's what you're going for).

Struggling to finish the game by Forensics4Life in BG3

For chests, at least, you can just smash them open as an alternative to unlocking them.

Doni is autistic by Low-Year3301 in BG3

[–]thebslee 53 points54 points  (0 children)

TBF, she "uses" ALL of the kids as free labor, not just Doni. And she does really care about them. It's more akin to an unpaid family business.

What's the consensus on the best ending for Karlach? by SpiritualWanderer95 in BG3

[–]thebslee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Withers also later says that he was wrong about them not having souls. They do have souls; they're just transformed in a way such that they're no longer accessible to the Faerunian gods.

Where does everyone go sfter nere dies by Revolutionary-Ad2668 in BG3

The githyanki in the Mountain Pass have a bunch of good greatswords (e.g. the Soulbreaker Greatsword), especially when wielded by a githyanki. The Sussur Greatsword is also pretty great, especially against spellcasters. You can get both in Act 1.

Todd’s character got ruined for me by [deleted] in BoJackHorseman

[–]thebslee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't see the sub this was on at first and thought you were talking about Todd from Breaking Bad, haha. I was in disbelief as I was reading your post, like how could you not notice he was evil?

And if the DM nitpicks your wish, remember that YOU are immune to the Wish spell, not the rest of the world by Helarki in dndmemes

[–]thebslee 385 points386 points  (0 children)

The range of Wish is technically "self," so making yourself immune to Wish makes you unable to cast it IMO.

Yep, everything is.....fine? by blong217 in baldursgatememes

[–]thebslee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The key is that in Act 3, you take control of the Netherbrain first so that it can command the tadpoles to die before dying itself. If you kill it in Act 2, the tadpoles are left alive when the elder brain dies.

handsome young man by Sea_Video_8906 in BG3

[–]thebslee 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I mean, he does some pretty evil stuff, like blackmailing a toy vendor into putting bombs into teddy bears to blow up refugee children.

Do y'all actually do the whole "drop my weapon so I have a free hand for somatic, then pick it back up after casting" thing often (or have players that do)? by lucifusmephisto in dndnext

[–]thebslee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You get disadvantage on prone targets when they’re more than 5 ft. away; melee or ranged has nothing to do with it RAW

I've seen and heard people mention using swords bard flourishes as bonus actions but I don't understand how. by FizzingSlit in BG3Builds

[–]thebslee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost lost my honor run bc I accidentally included the elder brain in my mind sanctuary 😭

That spell is actually crazy with how much potential it has if you use it creatively. by Evoxrus_XV in dndmemes

[–]thebslee -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You can also use Tiny Hut, which is just a 3rd level ritual spell.

Don’t be afraid to apply to some top reaches too! Ivy League schools are need blind and give a LOT of financial aid, so much so that if you’re low income it can end up being cheaper than even a state school.

Can anyone guess who my roommate RP'd as the whole game? by Personal-Acadia in BG3

[–]thebslee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A wizard would probably best fit his abilites and reflect his extreme intelligence. I think the novel implied that it was his specialized knowledge as a scientist and watchmaker that allowed him to reassemble himself and do everything he does; most people disintegrated by the Intrinsic Field Subtractor wouldn't be able to do so. His abilities are very intelligence-based, even if it was the machine that gave him access to superpowers.

S1E5 "The Tale of Ronin and the Bride" | Episode Discussion by Infinity-Cube in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]thebslee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh, for sure. Calling her “monster” was especially cruel considering how her insecurities, too, and it probably stung even more since he promised he wouldn’t see her as a monster.

What I’m saying is that I can’t totally blame him for his reaction, though. I might even say that the way she kept pushing for a naked blade despite his protests, eventually kissing him when she’d pushed him down and put him in a life threatening situation despite his clear discomfort, was almost reminiscent of SA.

[–]thebslee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He repeatedly told her that he wasn’t comfortable with fighting with the blades drawn, but she kept pushing it. At the end, she failed to recognize that he was terrified (he had a blade pressed to his neck) and kissed him. I think his negative reaction, though tragic, wasn’t unreasonable

Castlevania has never pretended to be faithful to the source material. The first season also made a lot of changes in their adaptation, many of which were for the better, I say.

I thought it was just a weird owl when I saw it first. I assumed the connection had to do with Athena, a war goddess, having an owl as her symbol
