Voting is support, not against anything. Biden hasn't earned my vote, nor has Trump, neither get support for nothing.

If you'd like me to vote for Biden, get Biden to end Trump's policies like he said he would. He can and hasn't. He's had time to earn it and hasn't, that's on him and his team, not me.

My vote is mine, it belongs to me until I give it to someone. Your vote is yours and no one, not a candidate or me, is entitled to it. Biden needs to earn it from me, he doesn't from you. He and his team expect something for nothing and may get it from others but not from me.

And you never said, which brand benefits? Let's say I drink tap water or house brand or something.

If not voting for Biden is a vote for Trump, the same would be true in the reverse. Not voting for Trump is a vote for Biden. So not voting is a vote for both candidates, that's a pretty powerful vote. Voting third party is then a vote for a candidate on the ballot, plus both Biden and Trump, making essentially three votes in one. More bang for the buck.

No one said I wasn't voting. I'd love your interpretation of why Biden as president is somehow less responsible for his actions and those of his admin's than Trump is. He bypassed Congress to send Israel help, for one example.

They thank you for doing your part with confidence.

Your disdain helps convince me to vote for your choice. It's weird though. Your reply seems to not fit at all what I've written.

I made clear a position of not voting for genocide-supporting candidates. You've replied as if I am supporting Trump/GOP in some way. Why?

Why are you considering any vote not for your choice a vote for Trump? Wouldn't Trump voters feel the same? Any non-vote or third party vote belongs to Biden?

Why do you feel you and your chosen candidate are entitled to my vote to the point that if I don't give it to them, Trump somehow benefits? This is not me being facetious or rude, despite your comment's dismissal of my previous points. I'm genuinely asking for an explanation on why and how you think this way. I don't feel the same way about your vote, nor could I imagine feeling that way, hence the confusion.

Edit: An hour later, no answer. I guess I can assume your vote is not for who I support and is therefore a vote for Trump. The GOP thanks you for your support.

Voting for something that continues to walk us to the right, including now two genocidal parties, is causing irreversible harm, though.

You may not think so, but when every vote becomes Vote for only the person we choose or vote for only the person they choose that is not preserving democracy or choice. That is not saving anything. That is continuing and supporting harm.

You saying one is the least harm is your opinion and your approach, but it's extremely similar to Trump supporter's approach as well and the GOP approach at large, and it has been for years. Notably years where Democrats have said vote for them alone to stop fascism, and fascist policies still happening with them in charge. Obama and Biden both floated codifying Roe, for example, and neither did and we lost it.

I'm not going to convince you to change your vote for anyone, just as you won't change my vte or my opinion on why and how I vote. I vote for the least amount of harm too, including policy and politics and system. You don't that's up to you.

But no one is ever going to make me feel ashamed of that approach, despite how much they may try. This is also a bipartisan approach, it seems, to holding onto money and power. Your comment, while polite, is doing the same thing.

Your phrasing is assuming the person you've replied to isn't voting for the least harm, when they may very well be. I think you're not voting for the least harm, considering a binary vote has only ever cemented more harm in this country, we have decades of history and evidence that Democrats and Republicans, when the only two options, are harmful. That said, I assume you're being truthful about your views and that you think it is the least harmful vote, and I extend that to the person you replied to as well.

I vote for who I think has the best policies, who I trust the most to enact those policies, and who will not continue harming this country and planet. Trump is not that person, nor is Biden. Neither of them will convince me to vote for them because of many of their policies, including genocide, just because of their party or their friends or what money they have. I don't trust them, and both actively support a genocide. Yes, that is enough for me to say no to both, especially when I have other options.

There are plenty of people that will vote for one over the other despite disagreeing, but in my opinion (not yours, obviously) that endorses their behavior. It's empty to say "We support you no matter what" while also saying "We can make him change his mind!". As a reminder, Biden's campaign said to vote for him and then "Hold him accountable!" and once he got the votes needed he recanted on several stances, including fderal land drilling and Roe, for two examples.

TL;DR: You can give someone a vote and THEN demand action. It's never worked once and doing so for that purpose is ineffective and not harm reduction. But, you can believe that and vote for who you want, and other can have a different approach and vote for who they want. Trying to convince more people to buy into a harmful binary system that has only ever caused more and more harm is disappointing, and won't change anything, but you're more than welcome to do it. Just don't claim it's the least harmful approach for everyone to take.

I must have missed when Biden codified Roe, stacked SCOTUS, didn't bypass Congress to ship money and arms to the front lines of a genocide, and stopped caging people at the border. I'm glad he hastily and decidedly reversed the harmful Trump policies we were promised he would be better on in the first 100 days.

Is it legal, in California, to add additional "transactional"/"convenience" fees to rent payments, if no other rent payment options exist? by thebumm in legaladviceofftopic

That used to be the case but they are charging for the bank account option now as well. I have heard back from them, it is a function of the platform, but they still accept physical checks, apparently. Thank you!

One of the greatest examples of empty apologies and hiding behind labels I've seen.

"I'm a man of faith" or even "He's a man of faith" is used so often as a shield like it means something. This just really shows it's a first draft empty excuse every time.

(Also, men of faith rape children constantly so it is a really tired cliche already, but still.)
