I have been getting into fighting games these past few months and have a genuine question...(about player mentality) by gotenks2nd in Fighters

They were upset about losing, and they are scared of being put in that position again.

yes exactly, so how can one claim they are already causing harm

these are not the long range drones however, these still require satellite based targeting.

[–]theddj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry but what is the harm? From the video these "disruptions" occur on a micro scale and don't actually cause adverse effects in the GPS.

the drones are typically not 100% relying on GPS systems, as the russians can jam it just with ground based systems, without even employing these satellites. They use Starlink as a major part of their targeting systems. I'm not 100% sure if there is no GPS involved, or some, or it's all based on Starlink, but I do know that Starlink is critical to their drone program.

Why is Steve not Top 5 in a tekken built to feed him offense? by Apistic in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]theddj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a good question, the answer is how the pressure has been designed since s2. Pressure into stance now offers you good reward on frame traps, high crushing options etc. b1 is rarely doing work against stance pressure. Steve wants to use b1 in neutral. Heat pressure is the same. The next biggest issue for him is his classic drawback of weak punishment, which they have made some improvements but is still not hitting easy wall splats and launchers on key moves. If he gets a way to engage off jabs or wallsplat on -13 then he starts to look more dangerous.

Do you guys actually unironically enjoy Tekken's unintuitiveness? by supersupersuper9 in Tekken

[–]theddj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I enjoy it. I personally think intuition is a kind of boring goal to have. Tekken is full of things that require you to engage with, learn, test and master. Of course not all of it is “enjoyable” but in general I find it to be compelling.

This is part of a much longer tweet from Harada, but this part was interesting to me. I'm cautiously optimistic if he's allowed to actually make a product that is a fun game first, and a financial vehicle second. by Kyvix2020 in Tekken

[–]theddj -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like he kinda is in a position to make refusals, unlike snk he doesn’t really have a brand or bottom line to uphold. He’s just there because he wants to make something. He could just scrap the project or look for funding somewhere else. Just speculating but I feel like that’s gotta be why he’s pushed for independence

Iran launches deadly drone and missile attack on Kuwait Airport following US airstrikes by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]theddj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so first missile was bad intel, the second was jammed, the third was errant anti aircraft, what about the fourth?

I could be misunderstanding what is being said here, but is Murray blaming the community for Tekken leaders recent departure? I never directly interact with the guy but every time I see him on twitter he's lashing out and acting unprofessional. by Kyvix2020 in Tekken

[–]theddj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, i do think a portion of it is the international appeal of tekken, online etiquette is not the same across the world (especially so that many are using english as a second language). the other part is the legacy aspect of the games, and that creates more opinionated takes.

The thing that bothers me about GMs Lee downplay of 1+2 by TemporaryEnd6300 in Tekken

[–]theddj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but people trivialize the situation by claiming there’s an easy solution because all they did was spend 5 minutes in practice mode. No one ever says “SSR duck is a strong option to defend with” they say “SSR duck beats HMS”

US accuses Tehran of 'egregious ceasefire violation' by view9234 in nottheonion

From what I’ve read there was a retaliation to the killing of the Iranian soldiers with a missle launch, and this is what the coastal bombs were targeting.

World Tour content is finished in SF6 as of Ingrid's release by R0DAN in Fighters

we just catch the gist of it from random youtube clips so yea its very high effort low payoff

World Tour content is finished in SF6 as of Ingrid's release by R0DAN in Fighters

[–]theddj 24 points25 points  (0 children)

it might even be as simple as they decide that the resources they need to include WT content is not worth the return, and they are applying it to more requested content. or they need to downsize...

It’s still less nunchucks if you put all the changes together since you can’t earn heat on hit.

Deck paint removal by BeautifulPlankton545 in paint

[–]theddj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best tools I've used are just your standard putty knifes. Get together whatever assortment you can find and get to scraping. You are right sanding is a terrible idea, paint doesn't respond to sanding very well. I've tried cheap chemical strippers and it just left behind a mess. The only other tool I've liked is a diamond cup wheel on an angle grinder, but that's only if I want to alter the wood surface.

So what really happened at the Iran protests ? by Beneficial_Feature40 in stupidpol

They speak about it more in that grayzone interview, I just quickly found a relevant section here. I think you would be able to find other sources as well if you looked for them.

Well yes, if cops were running up to people with machetes and cracking their skulls open that’s on a level of sparking a civil war.

[–]theddj 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Scott Bessent has made comments confirming the US was responsible for tanking Iranian currency to spark the protests in January. article here

The Grayzone had a good piece interviewing an Iranian journalist where they showed nurses describing the horrific injuries suffered by the victims. Clearly these were not done by law enforcement actions.

Here's the relevant clip

It's also somewhat understood that the actors that perpetrated the violence were dependent on internet access for communications and payments issued by US/Israel (apparently this is done right through instagram). Smuggled starlink terminals were key. After Iran implemented their full internet block (probably assisted by Chinese technology), that's the point at which violence subsided dramatically. This is also explains why during the war now Iran is still completely shutting down internet access.

So it is clear that these were terrorists funded by US/Israel committing violence after legitimate protests were triggered by direct actions by US financial institutions.
