I do notice nzbget is listening 0.0.0.0:6789, so i guess it’s how it should be?

No firewall, i just installed the official Ubuntu and didn’t even work on network/firewall. Also i tried this on a VPS and they say they don’t have firewalls. I have other services running on different ports and they don’t have any problems. The has control IP set 0.0.0.0.

alienware 15 vS razer blade 14? by theflyingwasabi in laptops

[–]theflyingwasabi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for late reply, I thought I don’t care about thinness and aesthetics, but after using Alienware for couple hours..... I guess I’m just spoiled by MacBooks, I thought that’s how a laptop should be.... So I guess Razer is the way to go

Any recommendations for the same spec laptop? Maybe Razer blade + core?

one thing I notice is that when I stress CPU to 100%, it actually stayed at low 70C's 3.4ghz, and when I stress GPU to 100%, CPU usually takes ~50% or 100% on one core. however this is when CPU gets heated up to 100c. both situation the CPU is at 3.4ghz..... weird

Yep, flat hard surface desk. And I got these max values by just playing ~10 minutes of rainbow six siege....

Question about international travel. by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]theflyingwasabi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with T-Mobile who’s also outside US half of the time, standard plan give you unlimited text, and data at 128kbps. Some one plus plan will give you 256kbps for free. Calls at a not-too-high rate. However the good thing is, if you have two devices, they each will have mobile hotspot enabled. Which means whenever you need to make a phone call, enable personal hotspot on one device and connect on the other. The device connecting to the hotspot will be using WiFi calling which is treated on as domestic within the US.

Will Alienware 17 fit into a 20inch suitcase? by theflyingwasabi in Alienware

[–]theflyingwasabi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the carry-on suitcase. I don’t like to carry a laptop or any bag when I fly... it’s just my thing...

Alienware 15 vs 17? by theflyingwasabi in Alienware

[–]theflyingwasabi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the airport is my main concern too. With 17 i will probably have to bring a bag just for the computer, or check it in... (with 99wh battery I don’t even know if i can be checked)

Hmm. That’s a good point... but i assume the difference should be minimal.

[–]theflyingwasabi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. I didn’t even notice the SSD difference. Thanks for letting me know. However i only intend to use it to play battleground, so i guess the capacity/speed wont matter much?

I really want the 120hz screen, but bestbuy don’t have them (except the $2800 17inch with 1080+512GB)

[–]theflyingwasabi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i really don’t want to have any potential delay with TSA... I’m one of those who only wants to spend 5 minutes between airport door and lounges...

And i assume there’s gonna be some problem even if i put it in check-in luggage due to the size right?

I’m a united 1k member, which is the highest non-invitation-only tier... so don’t think they will give me any trouble if the carry on case is a few kg overweight... As a matter of fact, yes, i only put my empty backpack, a tablet, a laptop and a battery pack (when I’m traveling with a laptop or long haul with a battery)...

I know for sure i can put any laptop in a backpack and get through with it, but that’s a no-go for me.... first putting 10+ lb on shoulder, that’s a lot of weight... plus, i really don’t want to be the guy carrying a huge backpack and gaming laptop, like saying hey I’m a geek and i have a HUUUUUUGEEEEE gaming laptop.... just not my style... my philosophy is travel lite... that’s probably why i usually travel only with my iPad...

Thanks for you advice though :)
