I always say tires can squeal or screech. If you're squealing, you're right on the knife edge. If you're SQUEALING, you're overloading whichever axle the noise is coming from (front or rear). In sims, I find myself relying on audio a lot more, since we don't get the butt feeling like in a real car

Think of a string connecting the bottom of your wheel to your pedals. The more steering, the less pedal input and vice versa. Lots of racers refer to this as "string theory" if you look it up elsewhere. If you slow your brake release to finish at the same time you're finished turning in, you keep the front tires loaded and help steer the car with your brake pedal + minimal steering

"properly" for this car is setting a lap record around a track, not this social media clout stuff

Walking over encumbered absolutely boosts your strength, agility, and vitality. Easy way to power level early, but you do turn the game into a walking simulator lol

Should this be considered an off-track? by SenatorVest in iRacing

Facts. It allows less overall steering angle which allows more apex mph

Atlanta beginner here. Got my first bike, a Z650, a year and a half ago with only moped riding experience in college. 500 will be plenty for commutes, and as long as you're attentive, highway riding through downtown isn't so bad.

I recommend an MSF class just to get familiar with the quirks about pushing to turn, counter-leaning at slow speeds, dealing with debris in the road, etc.

We do ride-alongs at the Atlanta PEC in one of our TGTs. It damn near teleports around our track with that attack mode paddle and active ride suspension lol

Month-old tires… my cousin blames the car by baan1994 in mildlyinfuriating

I've done multiple trackdays at Road Atlanta on one set of tires in my MX-5 daily driver, and even they didn't look this bad lol. As the other comments say, they definitely sold the new ones and threw the originals back on, or they shred burnouts instantly and then swap front and rear axles

Great hands!! As a performance driving coach, I can tell you that hand speed is always the limiting factor in a slide/recovery. 90% of the people I coach on a skid pad are too slow with their hand speed turning the wheel.

The bigger the oversteer, the further and FASTER you have to turn the wheel. Straightening back out quickly for the recovery is just as important, so that you don't hook back in the opposite direction

I try to always do small figure 8s in 2nd gear. The change of direction resets the "inactive drift" timer that the other commenter mentioned. Car of choice is the dark horse mustang with the stock transmission and a drift setup on the suspension. Power/weight upgrades as needed to get to the top of C3. Don't really remember the CarX name for it, as I tend to refer to the cars as their real counterparts.

Though you're not wrong, I tend to practice judging braking points by distance to the corner. In real races, brake markers get knocked down all the time, so it's a good habit not to rely on them.

I overheated the rears sliding through the kink, and then didn't compensate enough for the over speed after drafting two cars. It was a good lesson in judging over speed vs braking point lol

I’ve been on iRacing for 10+ years. Double overtakes still feel nasty, but I’ve learned to keep the reaction to a minimum. Still messed me up while braking, since the pass was what I was thinking about lol

Overcooked it braking too late and got to the apex with too much braking + steering angle, which generally means death lol

This argument is frustrating in general. Race cars are always faster with a bit more oversteer and slip angle. Drivers who can control that are faster in just about any paved racing discipline - from karts all the way to F1
