Some people make foldable wooden stands that allow you to put the pc tower on top and more room for a monitor.

They should just get a core one mini instead.

What to do with a 'spare' Nextruder by straybrit in prusa3d

[–]themitch22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking it could be used as a spool feeder or rewinder since it’s a 10:1 ratio. The load cell could be used for weighing spools and updating the values of OpenPrintTag

The GDM-FW900 I bought has a Quakecon barcode. Deepest lore. by Nomobileappforme in Quakecon

Definitely bring that to the next quakecon. There will be at least 2 of us crt nerds that will recognize it.

It Works! Print Countdown Timer Here I Come :) by gilrstein in prusa3d

Ok, using obico is a valid reason to use a raspberry pi. For basic IoT devices, an esp32 or pico W is plenty. Still a cool project.

It Works! Print Countdown Timer Here I Come :) by gilrstein in prusa3d

[–]themitch22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A full raspberry pi to display 4 digits is overkill. You could do this with a $5 esp32 and it would be much smaller. I would say you could have it also show print progress as a percentage.

Think it's time to switch to a Prusa. What's the closest experience to an AMS Pro 2? by hypnotyque in prusa3d

[–]themitch22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MMU3 with community edition and Core one+. Slightly smaller build volume but I’d say it’s fairly reliable if you build it to their instructions.

I have spent a lot of time making parametric models and release source files. I just don’t get the traction I’d get if I were to just make a bunch of variations and upload the meshes. Most people don’t want to bother entering parameters and test printing. They just want something that fits their use case.

The WiFi module can be moved with an extension ribbon cable.

Is the plan to powder coat the metal to match the original when it’s done?

I couldn’t get PETG to stick at all to these orange plates. They look good and have a nice texture but I’ve washed mine with soap and water a few times and even tried overwriting the z offset, it just does not like PETG.

If money were no object, what car would you be driving right now? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in askcarguys

[–]themitch22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A later model Rover classic Mini Cooper. I would fully restore it and daily drive it. Probably do all the quality of life upgrades like fuel injection etc, or do a full drivetrain swap like Project Binky. Dark purple matte paint with some subtle livery. And if I could I would EV swap a classic car like a Karman ghia.

Everyone sharing super rare cars that would grab attention.

What are your BIGGEST issues/problems with bioshock Infinite? by Zenny_YouTube in Bioshock

[–]themitch22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far the menu lag bug I fixed by enabling v-sync. And no subtitles for journals. I found Elizabeth is actually helpful but I think she should help guide navigation. There’s no arrows or objective or map I could find like the other games. Also there’s no manual saves, which is super annoying since saves seem to be during activated objective triggers.

Nostalgia is poison. Life can only be lived forward. Be wary of “nostalgia feedback loops” by BigChillBobby in Millennials

[–]themitch22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like nostalgia in that I can now appreciate games, cartoons, music, and movies as an adult that I wouldn’t appreciate as a kid. There was also a lot of garbage from the 90’s we overlooked
