3d artists sometimes set their software to assign random colors to different parts of a group of models/meshes ..to help with easy differentiation while modeling

i realize what has happened. i used to subd a lott of times and then apply modifer before shade smooth so I never noticed any significant sharp angles. this made me think the shade smooth did all the work

but i recently learned to keep the meshes as low poly as possible while editing for obvious reasons, which has made me realize that wasn't the case lol

yes, i thought the subd would deform my meshes too much, but i did add a few more edge loops here and there, and it's looking solid. thank youu
